Thread: Please help me kill faster

If that's a crafted gun, switch it out for a High Speed instead of damage experimented one.
If that were an L7 RE job, I'd say get one that exceeds 3k and has much better vs ratings.
Maybe just bit the bullet and kit out an Advance with 2 guns, or use an REd Borstel from your previous profession.
That makes SO much difference. On my alt, I finally got off my ass and ran the last two Tier 3 missions from Jabba after crafting a new kit for an Ixiyen. I have a pair of 2550 damage Advanced Blasters with .268 refire.
Matched to Weapon Overload and CapOverload, the damned things just stream death..
Doh, yeah, that would be a problem. Get the level 7 crafted, get a high speed engine. And do you corkscrew on your attack run? It's a bit harder to target properly but i feel at least I take a bit less damage on the way in. Don't mess with the missiles. The time it takes to get lined up and fire one a quickfire will put out a lot of damage. And I usually only go about 1200m away before I start my turn around and next attack run. I use a crafted level 7 shield with about 1900 F/B so that 2555 shield should hold a bit longer.

Some of the extra mass is being used up by my (completely useless) proton torpedo launcher. For some reason, the torpedo keeps hitting the back of the gunboat, while I've been pounding away at the front. I was hoping the torpedos would give me the extra damage output I needed.
However, the level 9 gun won't work for sure. Level 9 and 10 components are Ace level certifications.
I may try to get my hands on a fast level 7 crafted, though. Can't hurt to try.

I would drop the armor, get a smaller reactor, drop the booster in order to put a heafty weapon and one of the new Mark IV engines.
On missions like these I go after the gunboat(s) first and kite the fighters around untill the primary objective is complete. It might also save you some time if you knew what sector the GB will be so you jump to it instead of flying to it long distance. With the newer Mark IV engines you should be able to stay in closer to the gunboat and do a wacky kind of orbit around it. Jousting tends to waste allot of time and if you must joust the GB then you don't want to burn any time on the fighters. I know the heavy tie with the equipment I use in my red interceptor is capeable of close quarters fighting with 3 tier 5 killer gunboats (tested out on yt-1300 tier 5 duty in the kashyyyk system).
I know 65K mass over 95K mass is daunting, but mass is not a limitation, just a minor annoyoance.
If you need help kitting one out treena, let me know.

My suggestions:
No Booster.
High Refire Weapon - lvl 7 - 15k mass or so.
Possibly a lighter capacitor.
Possibly a light shield - to - front droid program.
Use a slower droid program for more mass.
Once you get down to the engines, nail it with a missile of some kind. MK III proton will lock pretty quickly. Engines should die in one pass.
Actis is definitely a good idea. A pair of lvl 7 guns in that thing is quite possible, you may even need to take the armor out of your ship but there's a DEFINITE bonus to working light.

Lose the heavy tie and get a Tie Advanced.

Picked up the Advanced a few minutes ago. We're getting the outer edges of Dennis right now, so my connection is going up and down. Hopefully I'll be more stable tonight, so I can try it out. If you're on, I'll probably throw a few questions at you. This will be a first for me, as I did most of my Imperial stuff up until now in either a Heavy TIE, TIE Bomber, or RG Interceptor.

MK I Reactor
Lvl 2 capacitor (RE'd, i might have an extra i can spare)
MK I armor
MK IV shield
L6 Engine RE.d ( i can probaly help you out here, have tons of L6's i havent REd yet)
A couple L7 blasters not to exceed 14-15K mass. (preferbly RE'd) Twin L6's might work too, Got tons of those i havent REd yet either.
MK II booster
chaff launcher
Thats the general gist, a couple items (such as booster)you might need to get tailor made for lower mass

If you did Crimson Phoenix, you got an Incom tri cannon, same gun as the borstel, different name and firing effect.
I think that's the one sitting in my Z95 at the moment. So it probably won't be too helpful here. Although I am pretty sure that my X-wing would have been.

If you're doing this just for PvE I'd ditch the chaff launcher. And go with the level 7 blasters (quickfire upgrade, experimentation in vs. shields and then refire rate) At a .26 refire rate these will out damage any level 6 guns and all but the very best level 7 RE's on large targets like a gunboat. And actually for that mission I'd use a crafted high-speed engine.
