Some corrections:
Imperials get to Kessel from the Empire Deep Space station in Endor space. Freelancers get there from the Neutral Deep Space Station in Dathomir. When killed they return to Endor or Dathomir.
There is no Freelancer Master Trainer, at master level they either take goto the Rebel or Imperial Master level Trainer and take the same Master Level quests. So they will either be going after the Imperial or Rebel Corvette depending on which trainer they went to. There is NO Freelancer Corvette.
Sounds like, once again, things get made easier for Rebels. And, once again, freelancers get the shaft. We have been shafted in almost every other aspect of piloting so why not this one?
On another note, great guide Zina (long time no see!). I will be using this one soon. 5 stars for you.
how are freelancers getting the shaft in this particular situation? because they are freelancing their abilities out to the empire or rebellion?

Just one thing to add. It appears, though this may have been some sort of bug, that you must actually point your weapons at or near the subsystem you are trying to target in order to hit it. For example, sitting behind the 'vette shooting at the engines willnot allow you to hit the weapon systems.
Can someone verrify this?

maybe i read it incorrectly.
that is not correct. they are more or less stations that can lead to "deep space"

Yes. Your missles also will not lockon if you're not pointed at the subsystem as opposed to the Corvette in general.

I am referring to the fact that Freelancers and Imperials will lose their mission when they die because they will have to reload into a different star-system. Correct me if I'm wrong about this...

Ahh that would be nice if that were the case. Anyone have a definitive answer?

I don't think is a bug. I've encountered the same thing attacking Lamba-classes. I think it's actually a reasonable decision based on "real life". You can't shoot *through* a solid objects to hit another until you've destroyed the first. Makes sense. Pain in the butt, but it makes sense

It should be pointed out that missiles aren't required, or even that useful, for the corvette. Each subsystem will go down with 2-3 well placed blaster hits. All that's required is an understanding of where, physically, the subcomponent is on the ship and coming in at a good angle to hit it.
I personally prefer my first run coming in from the top front, hitting the forwards weapon emplacements, and boosting out using the body of the corvette as cover from the gunboats. This clears out some of the most dangerous guns on the vette, and leaves a dead zone that you can escape through after making other firing passes. The gunboats make the top rear of the vette the most dangerous area, never approach the vette from the rear unless you're certain the gunboats are occupied.
Take the time to explore your own faction's corvette and learn where each subsystem is located, and make mock strafing runs on it. You can complete the mission with a considerably smaller group once you're experienced at targeting subcomponents.
I've seen the corvette solo'd by an Imp using his strike group as cover. I imagine with enough practice, even a rebel can solo it (but probably not before he's already Ace).
One final word of advice - have your privateer's declare for your faction before entering Kessel - it prevents embarrassing one-shot kills as you're strafing enemy fighters.

Well the time passed and no imperial vette spawn at all. We saw the Rebel vette pass by twice though. Now what the hell. Then I found this guide and got an exact wp to where the Imperial vette would spawn. Another 2 hours went by and still nothing. Are we missing something here? Or is the Imperial Vette spawn broken.
It was SO. INFURIATING. We had twenty people all ready to go at it... six hours later, we're down to around 5-7 and still no spawn. what was looked forward to as an awesome group battle turned into utter disappointment. Ohwell, try it tomorrow.
