apparently u need to complete the quest to fly the starfighter so ya u would need to complete it so u can use it otherwise its useless
Point is you can fly the ship on the last part of the mission, so that tells me you're in the clear w/o finishing the mission. So yeah, I'm curious if I can grab the fighter, snub Vader's orders, drop imp, and run like he11.Anyone know?
Why does nobody get my points... Im refering to the whole clone thing being ridiculous.. Not the fact that vader "moves"... but if hes going to go where he pleases, he should atleast move that cardboard standup of him at the Emperors retreat.

Well, you know, Vader's just one of those people who goes where he pleases. You ganna stop him??

Hehehe.. I get your point but... it is a game y'know. ![]()
Though it would be freakin sweet if some newblet showed up tho the Emporer's retreat, finished all the missions up to Vader, walked in the room and found a sign that read "Went to Kassyk, back in 5 minutes."
How the hell does a wookiee infiltrate anyone's ranks?? lol...man that TK-422 is one helluva hairy stromtrooper....

Yea I guess that was too hard for everyone to get.... Even after saying that I would go back and do the mission some other time and I was just asking if theres anything you get for finishing the mission because I already got the ship, I can fly it... whats the point in finishing it?.. thats all I asked... I didnt ask for smart ass comments
As far as RP goes, if you think that you cant RP something other than a rebel or imp, you're a freakin idiot.
I could care less about whatVader wants.. especially since the empire is in with the trandoshans and enslaving my people... I infiltrated their ranks and stole something from Vader... Yep, im not a RPer because I turned down an offer from Vader.... yep...

And tall. Tried to sneak in witha wookiee in clone armor - no such luck. They caught 'em straight off.
"Hey! You there! Yeah, you. The one with your head bouncing off the ceiling. Where you from anyways?"
I was just kidding. The image of a wookiee crammed into a stormy outfit, three sizes too small, hair sticking out everywhere, trying to act the part came into my head and struck me funny.
To answer your thread's question I didn't finsh the quest until 3 days later. I got paranoid the ship might be taken away or some wierd SOE thing. Plus it was an excuse to fly some more so why not.

Infiltrated probably wasnt the word I was looking for since It was said that I was being a "merc".. I wouldnt need to "infiltrate" i guess... I believe i was trying to speak in general for everyone who would do as I did "they infiltrate their ranks" is what I meant... But yea Im a wookiee and that wouldnt work to well.. but then again, if SWG was anything like the real story line, those stormtroopers and such would of tried to handcuff me and sell me before letting me work for them... But then again, my character has a reputation as a skilled bounty hunter in the outer rim... Perhaps this caught vaders attention... Im just speaking in general to "give an excuse for what we COULD do" which is steal vaders ship and get away with it... but we could go on and on about how I cant and how I COULD pull this off if this was all real... Yea a wookiee would be suspicious... but I didnt kill a stormtrooper and put on their armor either, I just do merc work and they thought they could use me.... thats the only explenation that semi-makes sense... but if we want to REALLY be realistic, I sincerely doubt they would even consider it... or any alien for that matter.... but who knows.I dont get how this turned into an arguement over my character... All I was looking for was someone to explain if you did or didnt have to finish this quest in order to keep the fighter. I was thinking in general for anyone, not myself... was there anything special about finishing the quest other than working for vader and getting faction points?.. thats what I was asking... nobody seemed to get that. Instead of answering that simple question this became a debate over whether or not im a "true" roleplayer?... Nevermind, I wont get the answer.Message Edited by HonorableWook on 05-17-2005 12:36 PM

3000 faction points, doin lord vader's bidding, why not, and of course actually being able to use the jedi starfighter are all good reasons to finish the quest, unless you just want a useless deed in your inventory.
But thats the thing... you can fly it without finishing the mission... I used the deed and took the ship out to fly around in... But I havnt tried to take off in it after failing the mission. I got a lot of lag in the system and the ships hypered out or something and vader told me to come back and speak to him but i havnt and I still have the fighter.

Ok I got the ship last night and this is what I learned. Once Vader gives you the ship, as long as the mission is active or pending, you can use it. But you MUST finish the quest in order to use it permanently. So if you decide the ditch imperial w/o finishing the quest, or dump the mission, you have a nice paperweight in your datapad.
The last mission is quite fun, actually. You can solo it if you're an ace pilot or even a tier4. I used my krayt and tore everything up. I think I used my cap to shields shunt like once. After I completed that, I resigned my imperial commission and now I have this snazzy little ship that kicks a$$. I was able to jam a nice level 9 and level 5 gun with good shields/engine/booster in there.
