Thread: FP in space as a privateer
Smugglers Alliance is "loosely" allied with the Rebel Alliance - but not 100%... RSF is 100% allied.
Honestly... RSF CANNOT attack Imperial Ships. Smugglers Alliance is "supposed" to be aligned w/ the Rebels... while CORSEC is supposed to be true neutral.

hmm, i didn't know your ground faction affects your pilot faction that much.
I am a freelancer in space (Corsec squadron, so true neutral), and imperial on ground. Can I get imp AND reb fp in space, or only imp fp ?
and @ Kryxal: what do you mean with the chassis alignment bug ?

Yes, it has a significant effect, especially in regards to Faction Points, as this thread had been about. No, you can not earn both, since you must be in a ground faction in order to go space Overt (which is how you earn FP for that side).
Bawarr wrote:RSF cant attack an imp ship after you start the two master pilot missions, however i did get the chance to choose imp or rebel when entering DS from the 'last nav point station'. Which is weird since when i was corsec (and chose the imperial side) i only got the imperial option at the station....
RSF's default behavior is to not be able to attack Imperials. Being a Ground Rebel means you can override that behavior by declaring in space. If you were CorSec and only given the option to enter DS as an Imperial, then you were an Imperial on the ground. Had you not been, you would have gotten both options.

I think we've been over the ways the RSF Pilots CAN attack Imperial NPCs. As for Smuggler's Alliance supposed to be aligned... where are you getting that from? The only way you can say that is the Ace missions, but those have zero effect on how an SA Pilot interacts with Imperial or Rebel NPCs. I consider SA and CorSec to both be neutral, while SA is not given the choice of Ace missions.
The Overt-in-Kessel-after-DS bug refers to the faction flag your chassis gets when you go to Deep Space. That flag marks that ships as ''that faction'' in Kessel until that chassis is redeed. For example, an RSF/Ground Neutral gets the option to enter DS as a Rebel and goes in with his/her Krayt. Once done, the Krayt will act as if it is a Rebel ship whenever it is in Kessel - Imperials will be hostiles and Rebels will be friendlies. That will persist until the Krayt is either redeeded to wipe the flag or taken into DS as an Imperial which will switch the flag to being an Imperial marker.

Are you certain about that ? Because I'm an imperial on the ground, but i can choose both sides when entering deep space...

I've been through all three Freelance paths, but I will not say that I've tested all nine combinations of Freelance path and Ground faction status. Everything I've seen and been through has pointed to all three Freelance paths having two options for entering DS, unless also factioned on the ground, which changes it to just one option to enter DS.
Feel free to prove/disprove it if you'd like. I'm afraid I'm currently an Alliance Pilot so I can not.

and about being able to go overt in space, or the options you have to choose which factional station and such..:
does being on leave/combatant/sf on the ground affects that in any way ?

In my experience, it has no effect at all.

Meh... It's a crazy world.
Regarding squadron loyalty -
As a RSF pilot you take orders from an Imperial Officer and you destroy (to make Master) 30 Rebel craft and a Rebel Corvette (no option to kill imps, hence allied with the imps). ![]()
As a Smuggler's Alliance, you destroy 30 Imperial Crafts and the Imperial Corvette. (havent done SA - so maybe I am wrong?) ![]()
As a CORSEC pilot you get to choose 30 imps or 30 rebels and a matching faction Corvette. ![]()
Regarding Priv's and FP in DS... /shrug/ Maybe I am wrong. I am pretty sure I have, but hell... I havent been up in a month! I dont even know what I had for breakfast... ![]()
Assuming I am wrong, that is the suck. Priv's should get FP if they align with a faction... ![]()
