I was just playing with the cockpit frame last night. When I first started playing, I always kept it on. When I started to learn about the higher PYR engines with the faster ships running EO programs, I turned it off since tracking happened so fast.

Now I'm used to playing without the cockput, but I think I will try putting it on at times to get used to it again. Having it off does seem to give me an edge though. My new style is to engage targets, soften them, and switch to the next one coming on to my 6 before he can score a hit. Without a cockpit, it's much easier.

Yeah I tried cockpit view off last night but still zoomed into 1st person mode. It felt wierd. I couldnt deal with it. It lookes like I was tumbling through open space. I had to go back to cockpit on.

If I'm flying my fighters (the TIE variants that is...) I'm usually zoomed all the way out in 3rd person so cockpit on or off doesn't really matter.

If I'm in my Firespary, I'm zoomed all the way in 1st person with the cockpit off.

Of course, in my Deci, zoomed out, 3rd person... cockpit doesn't matter again.

I tend to keep it on because I occasionally use the padlock view. With thecockpit off and padlockview on, it's really difficult to figure out which direction you need to turn to get your ship facing the enemy. With the cockpit on, though, you've got a solid reference point.

Well, I usually play in third-person anyway. But when I do play in first-person, I leave the cockpit on. It feels much more "real", like I'm really sitting in the cockpit. Besides the fact that it bugs me when it's off.

I fly first person with cockpit off... by the way... did any of you notice that it can happen at times that your cockpit shows again after it jumps? was introduced with one of the last patches...

Hmm...I haven't seen anything like that in my ships. Which chassis do you see this occuring on?

Oh, and I always fly without my virtual cockpit.

I have the cockpit turned on, and when I hyperspace, it sometimes has to cockpit off...annoying sometimes, I preferably like it on.

I have not yet flown an A-Wing and I have never had this problem. Any other rebel pilots have this issue with their A-Wing?

It never happened with my Y-wings or X-wing when I was a rebel pilot.

I keep mine on all the time (X-Wing/A-Wing pilot). It blocks the screen a bit, but since you can see the box for the target behind your dashboard, you can lead 'em anyways.

Makes it more challenging.

Of course, sometimes I just pan out to third person view for a more cinematic experience (and a better field of view).
