Hehe i agree in many of the threads in here..

But some not, i have done all the faction pilots also, but not twice only once (just to see how hard it is)

And yes the imperial t3-4 missions requires help from an pilot or 2..

I did my rebel t3-4 missions without help

And Freelancer well depends on who you work for (i worked for CorSec)

And after i have managed to master my first pilot, freelancer i had almost all equipment from that pilot just to use on my other ships wich does it a lot easier to master, but also because of the double exp...

As much as im sure ppl dont want to hear it, i think imperial pilot produces better pilots. The biggest reason of which is your forced to work with low mass chassis, and comparitlvy lower firepower for most of your time going up the pilot tree.

In the past, (and probably still) alot of rebel pilots scoffed at the idea of a 40K, 50K, and 65K mass chassis, and even "petitioned" for a mass increase in the already 100K mass xwing.

I scoff at the 100k mass primarily because I had a 192k Neutral ship but I am back to the X-Wing making due...also, the Opressor even has more mass than the X-Wing and I was hoping that the "Heavy X-Wing" would balance that...

The Oppressor is a master-level ship, whilst the X-Wing is a third tier ship with nearly limitless mounting capabilities at it's point of reward/use.

I'd be happy with a 65k Crimson Guard Interceptor and 85k Modified TIE Advanced. I could be God with 20k of extra mass to play with.

Call my ass Archimedes - whereas he said if he had a level big enough that he could move the world....

...I'm just asking for 20k of extra mass to futz with.

Imperial vette mission is a walk in the park. Call bomber strike two, when it destroys all weapons fly into missile range take out shields and engines. For rebels and neutrals its a PITA....It took me 10 hours to get myself from novice rebel pilot to 4444 master mission (its my 3rd master), and after that I died around 10 times trying to solo that mofo. I tried on a-wing ...it still gets hit too much and it can't destroy 8 escort fighters fast enough. X-wing has same problem, 8 fighters firing at you simultaneously + gun5 is bad. I am sure it is possible to solo it as neutral or rebel, but you must get lucky- random rebel fighters spawn will keep fighters/gunboats busy while you do your thing.

Rebel vette mission is hard as nails from a 'firstimerounder' point of view where th epilot has no idea what angles to aproach it from and whose ship is probably set up terribly.

I fully sympathise. I was that very type of pilto at first...you're lying if you weren't.

However, once you got the know how, its easy. Kill the two TIE aggs which buddy up together first, then the tie oppressors, then once the corvette has finished it's initial tumble, streak in and kill that gun 5. From there on out its a walk in the park because once the engines are out, the gunboats runaway and the vette is a sitting duck.

I also have an Imperial pilot too and I have to agree with the majority that even without bomber strike [lol i didn't know it existed until I got master hehe] the corvette from an Imperial perspective is easy. The two rebel gunboats would do way better flying inverted to each other giving each other cover from their top side guns and by having the corvette flying at a perpendicular angle to them giving fire cover all the way round.

With the corvette...it is a matter of preparation and experience. I advise any first time rounder pilots to accompany a group taking out the corvette which hasn't got someone who can solo the thing in it so they can see for themselves how to take it and so theyknow wha they're in for when the time comes.

I remember way back thinking 'Omg! a corvette?! That'll take 20 people to kill at least!' but seriously...if I can solo it, a blind Dewback can .

Not finishing off the gunboats is the JtL equivalent of forgetting to flush.

And the Imperial tier 3 and 4 missions are a lot tougher. So any Imp that has made it to the corvette knows how to manage his mass and overwhelming odds, or has a bunch of ace friends
