I say fix it, the last thing I want is some Deep Space kill to /tell me calling me an exploiter for using a bugged program...that I don't even use
I'll have to check it out, but when I saw what WO2 did to my energy consumption I never even tried WO3. I've got along this long without it, I'm not even gonna get used to it. I'd be willing to be that it wont be fixed soon though, it is available to everyone. If it was a pilot ability like pump reactor, where only imps could use it then I'd see it getting fixed sooner.

Hell, while we're at it, lets just have auto homing lasers that 1 hit kill the NPC ships. Its not about pvp, its about pve.

i'm 4444 rebel and I always used WO2....I knew about the bug, but I was never a gunbunny who just held the trigger and tried to hose my target with laser fire =) As a result I think I've gotten a lot better at pinpoint accuracy against the AI....so, bring on the bug fixes! Lets see what you TIE jockeys do when your batteries die

Not only PvP that the exploit applies. Masters use WO3 in PvE as well due to its bugged status.

What about if someone chooses not to use it BECAUSE it is bugged...should they still not be in Deep Space? I for one dont think so, maybe we should make the chip a loot drop, just to keep you happy

I'd test that before I made any sweeping statements. I'll yell at rapax and we'll take a look at it but frankly I don't think it will have much of an effect on pvp.

WO3 doubles your damage, while decreasing your energy usage by like a factor of 4. If PvP is mostly 1-2 hit kills now, with most people using WO3, then without it, damage will be halved, and it will be 2-3 hit kills.

No Eaca because if they fix it the damage multiplier will stay the same, as that is what the program is intended to do.
The thing that will change is that the shots will take drastically more energy and drain your capacitor way faster. But if you can kill a PC in 1 - 2 shots with it then that wont stop people from using it because they are afraid of cap drain. What it will do is keep the high level pilots from giving the standard issue level 3 droid programs to people still working their way up the ladder and making the grind to master more like a cakewalk. It will affect PvE drastically for anyone who uses this bugged droid program as a crutch, it will have little to no impact on PvP as you will still get wasted in 1 shot most of the time, so there's no time for it to drain your capacitor

I don't know about you but I shoot a lot trying to hit those quick moving a-wings, if you're flying up and picking your shots on your targets in PvP, then you're fighting people well below your skill level. WO4 drains my cap in 4 shots, even with low energy use guns, if I can only shoot for 2-3 seconds with WO3 after it's fixed...MOST WON'T USE IT!!! Plus you won't be running around with these monster damage guns draining 25-30 energy per shot, you'll use borstels (which are still sick damage) or low energy crafted guns. But 2 borstels or 2 low energy crafted guns is going to be WAY less damage than some of these monsters people are using with impunity due to WO3's energy reduction. The few left that do use it will likely be those using borstels with a monster capacitor they got lucky with, which is still far less damage than those same people using L10 monsters with smaller capacitors.

Not necessarily true. There is some evidence that WO4 does LESS damage per shot that WO3 currently does, meaning that the damage multipliers may also be messed up. Personally I think the math for the Weapon Overloads needs to be reworked all together. The damage bonuses should be 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%, respectively, and the energy efficiency mods should be .7, .5, .3, and .1. This would make Weapon Overload follow the same pattern as Engine Overload.

The way you hit those quick moving A wings is to get in the lightest quickest ship available to your faction that has enough mass to fit in a sweet engine.
All you need is mediocre guns and EO3 and WO3. With that set up you can stay on the tail of just about anything, unless the other pilot just outclasses you by a long shot. You also do not shoot unless you are sure you can hit your target. As long as you are tailing him, there is no point frantically trying to shoot at him. Now if he is able to start turning to face you and about to get the jump on you you may have to start blasting away hoping you land a clean shot. I don't know what ship you do PvP in, but if it's heavy and slow that's the wrong way to go. I have never had a problem with sitting in the exhaust of an A wing and shredding him like lettuce with 2-3 shots in either my Dunelizard or my Ixyen. PvP is all about your engine, it's really the only component that matters, as everyone uses all the same droid programs and damage is insane even with a mediocre weapon.

Exactly if you drain your capacitor in PvP there is seriously something wrong with you. The reason this is an exploit is because high level pilots are givingWO3 and CO3 to low level people still grinding up the pilot tree and they can just hold down the fire button and never worry about their capacitor draining at all (even if they have a cap with 500 energy and 17 recharge). In my experience draining my capacitor was the only thing that kept the fights even a little bit interesting when I was leveling pilot. If I could have just held down my fire button without worry of capacitor drain I would have leveled to master in 3 days. It only took me about 5 even without being able to do that.
And as far as the people that say they have never drained their cap before because they are just such good shots. Well I don't know maybe you could either afford or got lucky and found way better stuff than I ever could off of those low level NPC's. When I was working my way up the ladder and going against tier 4 and 5's with my (what I thought were sweet at the time) 2500 damage weapons it took me a lot of shots to bring one of those down, especially without using the weapon overload programs which I did not know I could use at the time. I usually never ran my capacitor dry through shooting, but I always had to be keeping an eye on it. It doesn't matter how good a shot you are when it takes maybe 10-15 shots to kill each bogey and there are 5 of them buzzing around you. You have to kill them fast or they will kill you, and you don't have the luxury of taking your time and waiting for your cap to get back up to full before you go after the next one. Of course once you get up to master and you got those three 4000+ damage guns on your ship and WO4 your not going to run your capacitor dry, you kill everything in 2 shots except maybe a tier 5 gunboat.
