Thread: Shield programs, is anyone using them?

About the Shields beeing impreg vs PVE, ever tried to tank a tier 5 gunboat, I have, and lived, but had no shields or armor left.
I didnt say impregnable, I said nigh (nearly) invulnerable in most situations. A half decent pilot is perfectly safe in 90% of the PvE situations with a 2550 reward shield. Yeah, no one expects to go nose to nose with a gunboat, but you can get through with minimal recharging needed, if you're aware.
My point is, there's no need to rob a Special (eshield) to improve the droid prog situation. It would just open the door to lots of abuse.
Mytheoryis a well made L9 shield, crafted for high recharge, with a shield overharge program based on the the nature of existing overcharges, would probably be able to tank a tier5 gunboat as you said. It's too easy to break what is a fairly borderline system.
Monsofo- thank you for the comment, please look into it along with some of the other droid program fixes we need.
Weapon Overload III
Engine Overload III
Reactor Overload IV
Capacitor Overload III
Cap to Shield Shunt III.
Thats it, Ive tried the shield adjustments, and just didnt see the usefulness or benefits of them. Given the same theme as the rest of the commands, I liked the idea of diverting shield HP into repair of components (i.e. shield--->engine repair etc) This would truly be a lifesaver sometimes, Ive had my engine get hit and slow me down so badly that I couldnt escape, being able to divert remaining hp (if there are any lol) to a partial repair of that component would save a lot of trips to the space station.

Exactly. Remember the old X-Wing and Tie Fighter games? Shield adjusts were a part of normal ship operations. I assumed JTL would do it this way because it seems like the way it would really be. All in all though, the Rebel programs are worthless. Maybe that's why they allow cross faction chips?
thank gosh for them lol, the time i use my shield programs is for my bwing, makes me abled to run head on into 2 tier5 decimators at once and go unscathed.
