It doesnt matter which Freelance or ground faction you're in, a freelance can't get to DS as an Overt. Has nothing to do with Imperial and SA, its a blanket bug that we've known about since launch.

Well that's just nice. I wanted to fly the YT-1300 with a bunch of ties blowing up X-Wing

After if finish the master missions I will join a Imperial Squad(great and I just started tweaking my tier 4 ship, oh well gives me a change to get more loot before I RE my parts

What POB Ship does the Impire have? Bet it's still not a cool as the YT-1300

P.S I did not know about this bug. Should have been some warining in game!!!!!

here's what you're not getting. you CAN go around blowing them up. In regular space you can be overt and earn faction for it. In Deep space, you cant be overt and earn faction, but you can still go and be PvP enabled, just not earn fps.

And the logic behind this is what? This make so sence at all

There actually is a sort of logic. It simply means that each side encourages the use of it's own agents in the (theoretically) most important battleground. There needs to be a good reason to join a side, take orders, live where they tell you to etc. and the higher potential for advancement makes sense. There also needs to be a sense of morale for a given side, and if all the opportunities were exactly the same for any guy in a ship who showed up, then there would be no real reason to sign up with the recruiter would there?

Yup, you can mention Han Solo now if you like, but I'll say that he is a hero whose advancement was due to deeds above and beyond the call of Duty, and even still he never operated very well within the power structure of the Rebellion (always coming and going as he pleased).

I'm not trying to really defend the system as it is, just point out that there is a certain logic to it. I think it's fine as is until they can revist the GCW in space and expand and add detail to the system.

Are you sure about the double XP after I master freelancer? I though I'd have to drop all my skills.

Because I can't gain FP in deep space does this mean PvP is also out?

No, anyone entering DS is PVP enabled. Declaring means you get FP for the kills.

I fail to see how an Imperial would even consider destroying the Imperial Corvette though.

I'm a Imperial citizen but I work for whom ever cuts the bigger paycheck, in this case the Rebels(although I hate them) their money is right(money is never bad, even though I might come from evil rebels:smileymad

If you are Imperial on the ground, you are not a citizen. You are in a soldier. Anyway, thats why we Imperials have the Inquesition. To track down and "interigate" spies with your attitude. You are either all Imperial or none. There is no between.

We have the Decimator. Not a bad ship...and it actually has the feel of having a command deck like a capital ship.
