Thread: Ixiyen: Worth using over a dunelizard?

I mastered Storm Squadron before I re-rolled my character and started Privateer, so the Dunelizard is godlike in my eyes: 85k mass, performance just a little less than a TIE Advanced and it has 20k more mass than the Imperial Tier 4 fighter

I fly my dunelizard, mainly. Maybe the krayt will get a bit more use than my Rihkxyrk (which I almost never use), but the Duneliazard remains my favorite so far for looks, speed and handling.

IMO, the dunelizard is much better. The Ixiyen has an extra 10k mass but thats not much really, not for what you give up. The Ixiyen slides ALOT more than the dunelizard and the manueverability has got to be different than what is posted. Testing using the same engine they both had much larger differences in how they felt.
I've flown every TIE variant except the Oppressor (wont give up my Advanced) and the Dunelizard is something I wish I had access to in the Imperial inventories. Great mass and it handle like a doll.
If you want a flying brick with lots of mass there's always your teir 4 ship.

Getm on one thats not the type that flies in a circle or moves alot. Get one that goes straight for a long time or long enough. Get on its 6 at around 540m. don't get in the 530s cus thats where i start getting hit at and 560's have a harder time hitting it. then just shoot straight at it and rip it apart.
Turrets 2 is the rear. Turrets 3 & 4 are semi rear. take those out and you can park on its @$$ for all i, you, me, or anyone cares. (just dont get in front of it if the others aren't gone)

Hated the Ixi and the Kihr for looks, profile and what they offered versus what I lost from the Dune or the Kimo. Then I got a Rihk and loved that. Now I have a Kryat and it's sooo nice. (Don't get me wrong...I realize I fly giant ships with "Blast Me!" signs painted on them, but they are very fast, very dogfight-worthy, very deadly!)
I still have my lizzy deeded, but haven't worked out quite the package to make her at master level just yet. With a YT deeded and somewhat decorated. I had to chose between my Rihk or my lizzy when I wanted to deed my Kryat. I can't think of any roles the Rihk could play that the kryat couldn't, so the lizzy gets to stay as a side project.

Ex-Rebel master now running Freelancer. Even at Tier 2, I can tell that the dunelizard is comparable to the A-Wing. What it lacks in maneuverability and speed, it makes up in mass. This is a SWEET ship. Even w/ only lv 5 compos, I can solo Tier 5's
