Also, get used to having droid programs on your imperial craft, it will help you tons.
what kind of a droid do you get fora ship? is it just a normal astromech droid made by a DE?
Imperial and Neutral Pilots use Flight computers, also made by DEs

Dude, you're on Corbantis, shoot me a /tell, I've been lookin for someone to fly with while I wait for the phases to shift. I should be on all day tomorrow and I'd be more than happy to get you most of the way, if not all the way through Tier 3 for ya.
Send a /tell to Ezis, or I'll try to send you an in-game message, I'm assuming Sassee's your name. I guess you missed all the posts I made about being able to solo anything in-space, so as long as you stay smart enough to not get yourself killed in the process, I can easily get you through everything you need.

I have read them now!
Thank you all once again for the advice and the offers of help. I will get my friend to come up with me first and give it a few goes. It'll be a nice feeling if we can manage this between us.I particularly like the advice of disabling or badly damaging the engines on the enemy ships and will give that a go.

This -is- a Storm Squadron mission
It consists of several escort missions each one very long and you better set a lot of time off for it...
I think I spent more than an hour doing nothing but escorting.
As you said... Its not because its a hard mission..
Im on the last 2 missions on tier 4 Storm right now, will get me my 8th pilot badge yey!
As the other guys said... get your droid programs up and running, I personally use:
Engine Overload 3
Weapon Overload 3
Reactor Overload 3
Capacitor Overload 4
Capacitor to shield shunt 3
They should all fit in a lvl 3 or 4 computer
Good luck

Don't forget to check your Journal. If everything is checked and grayed out, you have finished the mission. Usually a lot is happening on my screen (ie flying and blowing things up by the seat of my pants) for me to notice the Mission Complete text. Ctrl + J is an invaluable tool to me.
