I have to agree with the Joust / Chicken method.. it has been the most successfull against fast craft for me especially when taking on T5-Aggressors.. time consuming but it works....

Really important tip with A-Wings and other attack ships - they like to fly in formation, and that's bad for you. Watch for groups of two or three ships all flying close together. When they attack they'll attack as one, and that doubles the hits you're taking from one direction. When you find yourself fighting in a swarm (and this is what those duty missions help prepare you for) watch for the flights in formation, and break them up by attacking one of the ships. I think you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised at how much damage this mitigates.

For Tier4 neutral I like to fly my Rihk, and A-Wings are the only ships I don't like fighting. Disable them before you kill them, it often means less time wasted chasing them down. You can disable the whole swarm and go one with your mission.
