I thought about applying but jtl is mostly useless right now and its not going to be getting any attention any time soon, especially since they lowered shuttle times to 60 seconds..

Another likely crazy one here, never thought I'd even consider throwing my hat into the ring for one of these positions before actually...but space combat games in general have always been my first love, and there's no part of Galaxies I want to see more bug/issue free and more robust as possible as JTL.

How 'bout no. How 'bout you offer them nothing but headaches and stress to weed out everyone but those willing to do it simply because they love the game and the profession.

Amen to that one. I'd much rather have a 'crazy' volunteer no matter who it is that's willing to work towards bridging the gap between the community and the devs totally of their own volition than someone who was paid to do so or otherwise given some perk or incentive. And if you've paid attention any at all, most correspondents end up catching near as much hell as the devs do. It's a thankless job on the front end typically, and I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for anyone who is even still willing to try knowing those facts going in.

The main thing that needs to be realized is that the focus is heavily on the ground game at the moment. While the devs have given the Privateer Pilot a new ship, continually added new missions, and fix/tweaked existing systems - they're eyes are steadily focused on the ground game. Which is fine, it needs it. This is the time for Pilots to collaborate ideas, suggestions, issues, and complaints to forward to the red names. I know that JTL will still be getting attention in small doses and larger doses in the future.

There are still about 100 things offhand that can be done in the meantime. With every new publish bugs can appear and they still need to be compiled and drawn out and worked on. The communication of the player community and the Developers is crucial to maintain a healthy working relationship and help continue to craft the game into a positive direction.

New ideas and concepts for the profession should also be worked on. While not everyone's idea will make it in - the devs to listen and consider and actively work on player input.

Some things that I would like to work on with the community (in a player or Correspondent role):

- Kessel Run (it was actually a maze, not a race, that required speed, accuracy, and talent to survive)
- More ships!
- More integrated uses with the Pilot profession and ground professions. There are so many opportunities and ideas for Smuggler, Droid Engineer, Squad Leader, Bounty Hunter, Jedi, Shipwright, etc. to mesh with the pilot profession and give each person a unique experience in space tying their ground and space profession choices.
- Different types of missions, dynamic and fun with that Star Wars allure and feel. From blockades to escapes to pirating to smuggling - lets work on them.
- New loot (from advanced droids to flight outfits to rare weaponry) and maintaining a fair balance of it all.
- Space based badges (some people love them as I do, some people do not - still something to achieve)

There are plenty of ideas floating around in both my head and the community than can be drawn out and presented to the dev team to be considered and potentially implemented.

So far the Pilot profession is in wonderful shape and needs someone to maintain that and help continue to make it better and be a voice for both the community and the development staff

I am more than ready and willing to do such a "job". I don't even see it as that, I see it as an opportunity to make this game better for everyone.

/salute

Hmmm, the third correspondant job I've seen open up in the last few weeks. I am beginning to wonder.

Thank you for that, I sincerely hope the devs choose me. I have confidence in myself, confidence in the devs, and confidence in the community. We have a great system of communication going and I would be glad to help out in the facet of Pilot Correspondent to better and maintain the profession and assist with the overall scope of the game.

This is a wonderful opportunity and if I don't get it I know the devs will choose someone with the passion and drive enough to get the job done

Good post Anti, agree on all points pretty much. The main thing to me, as I think should always be the primary focus with any of these correspondent positions, is choosing someone who can communicate effectively above all else, especially in a positive/proactive frame of mind and approach. Everything else beyond that ultimately really is gravy if the correspondent is properly listening to and relying on the community's input/feedback for help...no one person can know or do it all after all. What you've outlined definitely says to me that you've got what it takes along those lines. you'd make a great one I think.

Now is a good time for any correspondents not feeling 100% sure if they have the time to stay dedicated towards their respective professions, since the CURB is looming.

Not to mention that anyone in the game can be a Pilot (providing they buy JTL), making the job potentially even more demanding than the GCW correspondent since neutrals are exempt from that - piloting includes EVERYONE.

If I'm not chosen, I wish good luck to whomever gets it.

I wonder if someone's going to wake up tomorrow and find their name is a nice new color.

Something tells me if someone had already been selected, there's a process to go through before being confirmed.

Probably an NDA for any sensitive information the Corr might be privy to and the like. Besides, my name changed color today anyway...but it's not like I wasn't expecting it.
