Monsofolexius, I know you are aware of this. Do you know why it's this way? I understand the whole thing about me not having Imperial Prestige to enter Deep Space through the Endor station but why was it made this way? Was a reason given why Master Freelancers who go overt for a chosen faction cannot get FP's in Deep Space, while they can anywhere else? Or was this a dev oversight?

lol, I have about 4 "clairification" threads up now, this is not one of them

The 2 sides to this would be

  1. Your up there as a PvP enabled player so why not
    OR

  2. If you want full benifits then join a faction

Personally I would like to see it all for one and 1 for all (faction for privateer in DS) but I do have about30 things the community would like to see (most of them in the issues thread) ahead of it. But don't think that if I get a chance to talk to the Dev's about it I won't push for reasons/change.

Intresting. Theres a couple pilots in my guild (mix of RSF and imperial pilot) who may drop RSF mainly because of the FP issue. I myself went back to imperial pilot in part for the same reason. Guess id better send an email out to the guild tonight to not resign privateer just yet.

Hope you get that answer soon.

The only thing i would mention here is that there might be some who dont wish to lose faction in Deep Space while hunting there. Not every one wants to get faction in Deep Space some are there for loot

But why restrict that incentive when the privateers that take advantage of it would be just as active in the GCW as any Rebel or Imperial pilot?

To me presonally this is a really big issue, infact to a master freelance pilot that is factioned on the ground this is probably one of the biggest gripes. I personally understand that there are other bugs out there but this to me is a major problem more so then the MP lacking usefulness. Not to mention that this should not be ahard fix for devs. With this problem you are essentially taking away content from 1/3 of the community.

Lets be honest, you are not stopped from gaining faction points in space (Kessel is quiet nice for this), you are not stopped from participating in GCW type stuff and battles in Deep Space. You are not limited to content. What we are talking if the ability to "farm" faction easier, in a decay-free zone, thats really it.

Its not that I am against the idea, but lets call a spade a spade.

To me it is not really the faction points. I patrol the space sectors on my server. I do this overt and attack overts. I respond to to calls of distress. However I can't help anyone in DS within a resonable response time. The only way for me to enter DS is to NOT be overt. The only way for me to go from overt to non-overt is to land. So now I have to land, take off again, re-run all my droid programs, then head to DS. If you have ever had to do this it will take about 5 minutes to do this. How many PvP battle have you been in where it lasted more then 5 minutes? If I wanted to farm faction I can do that anywhere. In fact I find going after teir 3 to be more effective for this any way. I can take them down with one hit allowing me more faction per second. If I am looking for loot I can always go to Kessel. But to go from regular space to DS is requiring me to land is not right. Even just adding an option to go from overt to non-overt would be nice.

Maybe using "content" was not the right choice in words. However this for me is a pain, but the freelance ships are much better IMO.

I look at it this way.

Imperials get very low mass ships. Hell, you're dunelizard has more mass than any of ours execpt the bomber, oppressor and aggressor(which is a POS )

The rebel ships are generally outperformed by the NPCs in deepspace - of course, pilot skill comes in to it, and an X-wing with some good kit inside it will decimate - but it's got a hitbox like a house lol.

If you want the faction, bite the bullet and accept that you may have to fly inferior ships to get there.
