Late reply, bit very late lol, but perhaps usefull for future pilots using search :-). I was confused about the docking and thought to shoot all the TIE's first. After an hour of disabling them and close to nervous breakdown a friend came to help me. This distracted the new TIE's but my other solution would be disabling most TIE as this seems to leave you some prescious time for docking. And yes, x targets the ship in your crosshair, better to avoid cycling through targets as this might make you lose prescious time.

PS the hour of shooting TIE was lucrative. Some loot and a nice credit chip for about 30k.
