For an overall perspective, specials need a definite look over, and i don't think they have gotten nearly any amount of attention as they should
Agreed. Both specials and droid commands need a once-over, really, with priority on making more of the specials more useful and on fixing the various bugs with the droid commands. Should be a way to make the Rebel commands more worthwhile, too.
I wrote up a big summary on droid commands a bit after FanFest, actually, but it's kind of hard to tell what's absorbed by the devs sometimes.

As for the info asbsorbtion thing...Try taping the memo to a box of donuts...usually works for the crew I work with...

I'd say that the Rebels deserve quite a bit more attention than the other two. They're kind of getting screwed on two of their four trees.
Two, how so? For Specials they have IFF Scramble and their repairs, both nice utilities. Droid programs won't really come in handy until upper Tiers, but they have a spot in my droid.
i have to agree here. with the exception of the freealancer iwin button, rebs get the most useful special. bstrike is neat and all, but its really not all that useful. as an imperial id rather have iff and repairs.
serious? IFF I agree with whole heartedly but repairs honestly suck imo if damaged in PvE as an ace your either doing lord cyssc mission, fighting new gunboats, rare bad luck, horribly unequipped(hope not any ace should be able to rectify that on a mid lvl spawn) or horrible at twitch games
most of those are not situations you leave damaged but blown up and I'd rather have ability to called in say 1-2 tier 4-5 wingmen over repair any day let alone an entire strike package as a pre-emptive strike on being damaged
I used to think it'd be a good idea to make PvP a little more fair...but now I think it'd just be an invitation for 5000hp+ shields.
Also, they're PIRATES, DAMMIT. They're as much after you as you're after your target. There's QUITE A DIFFERENCE between a disciplined Imperial Pilot and a PIRATE pilot.

Maybe I'm just nuts, but the Rebels could really use a "Shield Overload" program series. Even if they doubled the power drain modifers from the norm, they'd be a ton more useful that what we're stuck with now.
And it would be nice if Pilot specials didn't reset the droid commands.

I can imagine the amount of flames I'd recieve if I was running my A-wing with shield overload.
What Epulse 3 should do-use sheild energy to get rid of targets front and rear shields and use capacitor energy to go through both armour and what ever is left damages components.
What Epulse 3 really does-uses sheild energy to get get rid on ONE side of a targets sheilds, then it goes thorugh ONE side of a targets armour, then goes through any components. The capacitor energy is just to make sure the target is really really dead....

As long as there is a way to still obtain "upgraded" shields, there should (and shall) not be a Shield Overload program.

Well, THIS pirate has better equipment than some of your disciplined Imps and if you were talking individual ability, weren't all the imps just clones while pirates actually had individual thoughts and skill that weren't limited by one set of genes?
P-Trap specifies the pirates are as likely to attack you as your target.
My point is that while BS works only 25% of the time (and I usually have more success than that on my Imp alt) the pirates attack you pretty much as much as your target.
Really, a special that calls tier ones at master level? Just not right.
That being said, Epulse should get a bit of a nerf if not a rework. I love the ability to blast multiple tier fives apart by flicking a switch/button, but thats just too damn much. Maybe a max 1k dmg with a wave push that flings all ships 3k away or something. Forgot who suggested that.
That might fi more in the freelance type of pilot, especially SA.
