I am able to run EO 4, WO3, Cap overload 3, and not have to run RO at all.
Before anyone tells me, yes, I know my engine has bad PYR (because it is crafted), but this ship is mostly for pve (I just loaded up the image recs for defense in DS hehe). Besides, with 3 image recs, I won't get into very many turning fights with players. And also, the weapons on this ship have DPS very close to REed level 8 rewards, but with a lot less mass.
I also know my level 8 shield has a lot of mass, but that is because I REed it a long time ago when I didn't know as much about space. Just waiting to unlock my second slot so I can do another pilot prof (really don't want to drop SS ace/ only a week or 2 from unlocking).
Any comments on how it could be better? Feel free to post your ship's stats to compare.

Nice loadout, but I'd actually recommend dropping in a RE'd level 8 engine. Sure, you'll loose about 200 in your top speed, but the PYR will far exceed that. I know you say this ship is for PvE, but it never hurts to be able to hold a turn with a Tier 5 A-Wing NPC. Not too sure if that engine can do it or not. Been a while since I flew with sub-75 PYR. The engine I've got in my Opp is about 25k mass, 95+ top speed, and 78+ PY. I can take a Tier 5 NPC A-Wing and hold inside his turn radius, which leads to really fast kills.

Other than that, nice work on all the other parts. Was thinking of upgrading those guns to some level 9 crafted, but the mass would be a lot more for not too much of a dps gain. Nice work on the RE's there.

As to the shield, yeah, high mass, but very nice recharge on it. Definately offsets the mass. The Opp is nice in that it has the mass to pack in stuff like that.

i think he should keep the crafted engine. in a tie-opp you are limited by the chassis ypr acceleration mods so much that it takes alot of control input before he reaches the max turn rate on the engine, and with a tie-opp hes not going to be much of a dogfighter anyway.having almost 1500 unboosted speed lets him outrun just about anyone and then come back around for another attempt at a missile shot if i misses the first one.

Well, was just adding my 2 cents from my "dogfighting" Opp. Once you get that ship down, knowing it's slide/turning capabilities, there's not much else that can spin like it does. Sure, it's not going to do a snap-turn like an A-wing, but needing it to snap around isn't that big of an issue if you can slide around and still keep them in front of you. Flying an Opp isn't an easy task. I think someone the other day said it best...Opp pilots are some of the busiest pilots in the game, having to seriously work with their throttle. But, once they get it down, they are some of the toughest to go up against.

I'd like to see an A-Wing that can have something on it's tail, pull a 180, and be sliding backwards long enough to get a good shot before your throttle sends you flying the other direction. When an A-Wing turns, that's the direction it's heading. I'd never give up my ability to slide backwards for that. To me, it's just too useful, since almost no other ship can do it, and people don't expect it done.

I still get a lot of comments about how well my Opp can maneuver. I think a lot of pilots just don't stick it out to give it the chance it really deserves.
