My RGI Loadout (waiting to see if hit box is right so I don't use it for PVP, but I love it for droid killin in Endor)
Reactor: Crafted M1 with 1097 mass and 11027 reactor gen
Engine: lvl 8 nyms RE'd to 107.3 spd with 21354 mass and 1487 energy drain 76 y/p and74.7 roll (still ticked on that one 
)
Shield: Lvl 7 protecto with 2163 F/B with 13.5 recharge, 1294 drain and 14891 mass
Cap: Lvl 2 RE 1242 energy 39.9 recharge 970 drain and 1489 mass
Weapon: Lvl 9 with 37258 mass 2218 energy drain .69 (wanted .7) shields and .64 armor 2349 min and 3714 max with .31 refire
Booster: Cr M1 with 33.8 SPD mass 811 energy drain 563
Interface: Pre nerf lvl 1 497 mass 514 energy drain
Armor: RE'd lvl 2 FrontMass 1311 372 hp
RE'd lvl 2 Back Mass 1256 343 hp
The armor was the pain. Had to sort through the bazaar an hour to find the right stuff.
Still don't like the hp, but got two 700 hpplates ready for it if I ever get the extra 1300 mass.
And looking for helpful tips if anyone has em.

Depends on the way you fly. Quite a few people really like high rates of fire that odd-level guns give.
Plus you're dropping a significant amout of damage going back down to an L8. My current L9 works out to just over 6500 DPS (its not finished yet), and my best L8 comes out to 5500 DPS. That's a big % difference.

Yah, I've got a RE'd Borstel at .7 vs and just over 24k mass and am debating that very thing.
I have two 1300+ hpplates at 5600 and 6100 mass that I am going to put in if I switch over to the lvl 8 gun.
That one has the typical damages and such with 1761 drain and .37 refire. So it would actually put me at a lower reactor gen and mass on that too.....hmmmmmmmm

oh, and all the stuff I looted to make it too. If anyone can provide that too so I don't have to be lazy switching everything else out.....

Fair enough. What would you say is the lowest top speed you'd settle for on a RE'd level 8 engine? I can't seem to find anything that even cracks 90. Yes, my QID sucked.
Hrmm, maybe I need to find a thread talking about QID RE's....

Ouch, that's a tough break. I'd at least try to get a QID in the mid 90's. I mean, top speed really isn't THAT important, you'd be better off with 80 top speed if you had the YPR of a crafted L8 running EO4. But if you're going to spend the time and credits on a good engine, might as well do it right.
See if you can find a better QID. Do a bazaar search everytime you log on or off or get bored. Or if you are a combat character and you have some sort of access to a noob character (either an alt or a cross server trade - I might do that with you actually) and walk them through the quest over and over until you get a good engine.

Hehe, yep, been doing this. Nothing yet.
That is how I found my second Protecto-Net though, which will give me what I think isa pretty sweet shield. 
Though I think maybe I might be able to get the recharge up around 15 with a bit more searching..
Thanks for the advice, the PvP space scene on Chilastra is pretty dead. In my Oppressor, I've only lost 2 fights, both to A-Wings, heh. Now that ship has a decent level 10 RE'd engine in it. Won't fit in my RGI though.
