is it correct if i say that the image rec missiles have a faster lock and launch rate ? Yes and yes
if so, does that mean that those missiles are more suitable for pvp ? If you can't hang with the twisting and turning long enough to get a lock with a proton then yes

and if you fire a proton (evenly splitted values on armor/shield damage), will both the shields and armor get damaged at the same time, when you fire one proton ? NO
or will the shields go down first, and then the armor ? YES. Works like it would if you were shooting it with a blaster. So any excess damage that isn't absorbed by shields will be absorbed by armor. And then any damage no absorbed by armor will be absorbed by chassis and sub components.

thx

For POBs, you can mix and match loadouts. YT-1300s are kinda hosed, but with Novas, Decis, and Oppressors, you can have an IR2 launcher, a Mk IV Proton Launcer and a Spacebomb II launcher.

Just remember which weapon key you assign them too.

I set up my missile launchers *not* to fire and cycle.. B-wings and Nova's, it's nice to have a selection. Then just added a 'shift' and right mouse button (same button to launch) to cycle/switch launchers.

Still have to remember what tube is loaded with which missiles, but it saves you having to program different keys for each tube. Nothing so aggrivating as blowing a fighter with a spacebomb when you wanted it for later. Does make a spectacular explosion though. lol
