No you don't
1. Remove all parts from the Syk
2. Delete the Syk
3. Go back to your trainer, talk to him, and he'll give you another fully loaded ship
4. Buy a lizzy, put spare parts in her, and you're good to go until you find/buy better parts

Technically, you'll just need the chassis as all the parts from your old ship will easily fit in the Dune'. But if you do have the credits to afford upgrades, I'd recommend it. The increase in performance is worth it. If you are credit-spare, see if you can at least swing a new engine, shields, and blasters.

OhI can definitely afford an entire ship full of new parts, I have 7mill credits to burn. I'm loading up my Dunelizard style 1 now. When I load the v2 flight computer in it (it works, it loads), it turns red... it looks like this before I load it: v2 F.C. Memory Bank. It looks like this after I load it: v2 F.C. Memory Bank (LOADED). One person said it's cuz it's damaged, but how can that be, if I've never used it yet? Sorry I'm asking so many questions, this is how I learn so I'll bug you guys less and less once I know what's what.

the red is normal. least all mine do that and they work fine.
Select it in your datapad and select program, and load your droid commands. be sure to confirm not esc out of window.
Now launch, hit ctrl+A and move the command icons from the astromech tabto your quick bar.
have fun flying

They just picked red to show that it's loaded. Did you program it, by the way?
