Mass is the maximum capacity your ship can hold, so yes, something like encumberance.
you can't go over the limit. if your ship can take 30k mass max, then you can't install components that are 31k in total.

Hi,
I have just returned to SWG from a long break and I am currently trying the JTL missions which I was enjoying. At the moment I appear not to be able to get any more missions. When I go to my trainer(freelance corsec) in corellia she keeps saying "arent you supposed to be somewhere" but I have completed all the missions she gave me. I tried going to the next tier trainer but he has nothing for me yet. I only have 11xx in pilot so it might be I need to get the other 2 first tier boxes before I can get any more missions.
I bought the total experiece when I rejoined which was great value but the manual is absolutely awful it tells you nothing only the basic controls(not all of those either from what I can see)
Any help would be appreciated
