OK, I just completed this mission successfully solo. Here's what I did.
1) Bought a Tie Bomber.
2) Outfitted it with two advanced blasters (red) that had the same refire rate (0.26).
3) I must have gotten a 16k reactor at some point during my failed attempt in my Interceptor so I threw that on the Bomber.
4) Added some 1.1k armor and shields.
5) Targetted the Nova's reactor.
6) Waited until the Nova had it's belly turned towards me from a distance and then simply fired away. I had to use cap to shield shunt 2 twice.
7) Somehow my targetting of the reactor dropped and I accidentally blew up the first Nova so I had to wait a minute for another one to spawn and I repeated 5 and 6 over again.
8) Once the reactor was out I took out both weapon systems. The weapons will continue to fire even with the reactor gone so make sure you're not sitting above the Nova when you take out the weapons.

When that part is done you're asked to fly to Naboo. When you get there don't head towards the waypoint. Instead head in a different direction and wait until some A-Wings spawn. With my advanced blaster reds I was able to take out two before some X-Wings spawned. I took some of them out but was too tired to take out the rest so I hypered back to the Naboo: Royal Way hyperpoint and flew to the waypoint to dock with a shuttle and end the mission.
I absolutely loved the fire power and the handling of the bomber during this mission. It was a lot easier to keep both slow moving Y-Wings and the faster X=Wings and A-Wings in my sights and the adv blaster reds did some serious damage fairly quickly.
And I only overloaded my weapon capacitor and used shield shunt 2. All of my equipment except for the advanced blasters were loots I got from space and from completing missions.
