Thread: Mission Guide: Ral Mundi's Shipment
I'm sorry, but I totally disagree. With the introduction of RotW the entire questing system is changing. The quest journal with information and tips is there to help EVERY player along, and to say that the new people don't deserve the benefit of that is bunk. It's just as valid (I'd actually say more valid) a use of Dev time to work on activating those starport NPCs that have been standing there useless since JtL launch, as making a new high end cave for the l33t to camp.
All the old style quests can pretty much be thrown out the window, it's clear the devs plan to steadily rework most of them, as well as add stuff for the higher level toons. Go do Secrets of the Syren or Catch a Fallen Star if you want higher end content, and quit complaining about a new quest made for new people in the game.
Afterthought- I wouldn't mind seeing the new low end quests be made so that the NPC looks at your badass full template self and says, "You seem a little too good to be slumming, are you sure you want to do this for me?" That would give you guys a clue it's Jr League.

I disagree. As I said before, there are already plenty of newb quests. I don't see any newbs complaining about a lack of quests or leaving the game because they can't find anything to do. However I do see posts everyday in the forums from high-end players complaining about a lack of things to do, and I get /tells and emails in game every week from friends and guildies who have decided to let their accounts expire because there's so little for a player with an achiever mindset to do once he gets to level 80. This Ral Mundi quest in particular is one of the most wastefull new quests. Why are the ships in space only Tier 1? Anyone who's at the level to only fight Tier 1 ships is obviously just starting out as a pilot, meaning that they have dozens of quest and duty missionsin their own pilot branch that they could be running instead. And if its a player who's reached ace already, and is out looking for new space missions to try, going up against Tier 1 ships is an excersize in boredom. This begs the question of who was this quest actually made for? Newbs have better put together, better rewarding missions already at their disposal, and any player that's only a little ways beyond newb will get zero challange from the mission. The point I'm trying to make is that new people don't need new quests, because when you're new to the game, even the old quests are "new" to you. Furthermore, if the devs actually want to improve the newbie experience in the game, they should instead be focusing on cleaning up all the newb stuff they broke in the CU. For example, I can't even count how many times I've gotten /tells from some new player asking about some themepark loot he just got, only for me to have to tell him that its completely worthless.
Now i know not to bother. I have a question, anyway i can remove this stupid quest from my quest journal?

Nope, according to others in the Quests and Missions forum who are far more enraged, the official slant is sometime following the introduction of the Syren quests, the whole DYNAMIC of quests were changed, so now only the pre-Syren quests can be reset mid-way, whilst you're stuck with the quests to take POST-Syren.
Of course, this came from a CSR, and we all know how uncorrupted their information is. /sarcasm
Think of how long a CSR is forced to help someone if one of their NPCs for the JSF quest gets stuck. Think of how many man hours have been lost on it already?
Solution: make quests one-shot. You'll piss off the customers but you'll reduce need for more CS staff, making future further layoffs possible to increase profits.
Gotta love the "I don't care about other players, just make more stuff for ME" guys. Shut up already. How bout they fix stuff and add CONTENT not new dungeons/rewards for you self proclaimed uber leet, whatever you call yourselves. Content will make this game better, not just a new place to camp and get more rewards to sell to each other b/c the new players can't come close to affording 5-10million in credits. So go power game and stuff it.
/end rant
Something easy, that might not have taken a LONG time to code. Or better yet, the schematic for it, since this quest at a glance seemed aimed at shipwrights.

Wow...youd think the owner of Mundi Stardrive Enterprises or whatever would at least be able to hook you up with, say, a badass L4 capacitor or L2 booster or L2 reactor or something that currently isnt filled by any other decent reward components. I'd love to see a T4 capacitor in the same vein as the Nym Starmap components, where there's variation in the stats but the possibility to be better than lootable counterparts at that range
Seeing as one of the parts holding Phoenix up is a 45.0+ L4 cap (I'm currently stuck at 44.3 with a 43.0), I'd have definitely wanted an L4 cap.
The new player quests are basically stepping stones for becoming a Jedi. Oh sure, you sense great power in me? Thanks lady I just met in Mos Eisley.
