I jumped in my TIE/LD last nbight and it felt like the whole world was put on slow-mo, especially being 30 minutes before that I was using my re'ed reward engine... so...... slow.......
I think I'd actually be kinda happily surprised if SS was as hard as so many people claim. Only reason I'm really doing it is because... I've done the other 2 Imp and I want to be Imp Ace again. I miss my Deci, I miss my Oppie, and I really REALLY want that Crimson Guard Intercepter when it is available.
ARC-170 (ONE forward firing gun, 2 rear turrets... like I need two people getting air sick in my ship!)
Jedi-Starfighter (Meh.. just not my style)
Grevious Strafighter (Looks like an old school chevy kind of, cool, but if I wanted a roadster I'd go play Grand Theft Auto)
The new ships we've seen already are supposedly the tip of the iceberg, I've heard there's a total of 20 new ships coming. (Keeps fingers crossed for Lambda)
We shall see, but I just really miss being an Imp Ace.

That will be pretty sweet. We only have a few folks in our guild that are hard-core pilots. I've heard of you 181st guys though.. too bad we're on different servers.
(Dear god I hope it has higher mass than the 51k I have now on my Intercepter. Although.... I'm pretty proud of my TIE Intercepter setup for PvP.)

Heh, good luck soloing t3 SS missions using your 2222 gear. I know a few who have done it, but the least tries I have heard of for the first mission have been about 15.

Should be no problem considering the re'ed stuff I have horded through 3 squadrons already. I'll keep you posted... btw If I get my butt smoked through these missions.. I'll honestly post that.

I'm planning on making it mandatory for all members of the 181st (I'm forming it on my server) to fly the Crimson Interceptors, depending on the mass.

I soloed SS last week without dying (failed one mission a few times due to running a patrol too fast, however), though I sure didn't do it in a day. In fact, I finished up with like 15 minutes before our weekend battle.. cut it so close I forgot to redo my flight computer and ended up in a fat dogfight with my missiles and chaff disabled.
No way I could have taken this before I'd had a lot of flight experience and some nice parts, but in terms of pure danger I think BE is harder.

I won't be able to pull it off in a day.... started last night, got about an hour and a half into it before I had to logoff for Real World stuff. Of course Tier 1 and the first mission of Tier 2 are done.... so the "one day" ain't gonna happen. I figure a total of between 16-18 hours in-game total (thats what Imperial Inquisition and Smugglers Alliance took)
I have feeling it's gonna take about the same, I've heard others say it took then 16 hours or so. If I would have started on saturday..It would have been done in a day, but with work and the girlfriend.. ain't gonna happen.

I did it first try using my 2222 gear since it was my first imp squadron. I did, however, almost break my joystick off in my hand because I was concentrating so hard. I was actually physically exhausted after the 30+ minutes straight of intense concentration required, but it sure was a refreshing feeling when it was over; a lot like that first time you blow the vette and take your first Ace.
