Thanks.
It would seem a good idea to get rid of the gunboats as quick as possible, as those can cause some serious problems even by themselves. Fighter cover isn't a major problem.
Does the corvette have to be taken apart piece by piece, or can you just keep on shooting it until it goes? It sounds to me like it has to be destroyed bit by bit. Is it, then, guns==>shields==>engines==>bridge?
Thanks for the tips so far, and sorry this isn't in the Pilot forum, but to be honest, I prefer talking to my compadres here. You guys know the shizzle, some of you have done it, and generally the intelligence and maturity level here leaves most forums in the dust.
So, uhm, round of shots on me

For the order of components, you're close. guns&shields==>engines==>reactor==>bridge

The next component in line only shows up after the components before it are destroyed. Meaning the reactor won't be targetable untill you take out the turrets, shields(there are two shield generators), and engine.

The Gunboats can be delt with by staying in the aft horizon of the Corvette and attacking from 500+ meters out. If you didn't know, there's always two escorting the Corvette. One flies behind and to the left, the other eats the Corvette's engine(I'm not kidding, get close enough to a friendly Corvette, you'll see one gunboat ramming the Corvette's engine over and over.). Drop the Gunboat with the fixation on engines first. The other gunboat will move into the position of the first. Take it out the same way.

Now, wait for the Corvette to do one of its epileptic siezure-like turn, then manuver into its aft horizon again. If you're flying a ship with, say, Space Bombs, target the center turret on each side and launch one at a time while barely peeking around the engine(just enough so that your bombs don't hit the engine). The nearby turrets will get splash damage. If you use other types of missiles, just make sure you have enough to drop the turrets. If you run out, you can peek around the engines and blast the turrets manually, but that'll get a bit more dangerous.

Anyway, hope that helps.

Edit: Don't bother with Energy Pulses, people were exploiting them for one-hit kills on other players who weren't Overt and the skill got nerfed to uselessness.

Ok fellow pilots, I know you are all upset about the bugs but lets try to see some positives so we don't degenerate into what certan other proffesion boards have become in the last day.

1. The window bug should be an easy fix.
2. The loot thing is as yet unconfirmed... but it should also be an easy fix.
3. At least we get to finish the Y-8 quest.
4. Piloting is still wicked fun.
5. The new POB parts are mighty tasty... mighty tasty
6. There are a bunch of people going out and flying for the Y-8 maybe some will stick around.
7. I'll go out on a limb here but I think part of the reason the Devs are so quiet at the moment is they are in crisis mode working on a hot fix.

So there I have said my peace and frankly I feel better... now to avoid the forums like the plague for a few days. (Thats not likely, who am I kidding?)

Ok so there is a hotfix going up only has 3 bullets but it would not be the first time there are "stealth" fixes...

I do worry a little about MOB dificulty on the ground... but reports seem to indicate it is not as bad as it is being said to be... crossing my fingers that what ever broke Jabba had to do with the window bug... (notice it said Jabba's will be visable in the game world... not put back in)
