I have Aced all the piloting professions now at some point since JTL came out. RSF most recently, and nothing at all compares to the IMP navy. Seen and piloted all ships, all the new releases, nothing compares to the JSF. Running two RE Taim & Bak HT12's ntohing compares. I do not care how fast you go, One shot 7200 Max damage. Nothing lasts. I may have a low top speed, and no booster, but when was the last time you ran from a fight. Even in PVE what ship can you outrun once you hit it? I see all the debates, hot items, best ship, best piloting profession. But I have found none better for PVE or PVP.I think the three wepaon hard points in the Freelance ships is the only pro, three taim and Bak HT 12's Levels anything in three bursts head on, I can tap my Cap to its limits with WO3 and waste gunboats.I needed one IMP Ace Pilots assistance for a vette, normally could solo strictly with the bomber strike. though. Not one other piloting profession allows that kind of firepower or options for running solo and assisting others. Pirate trap is useless, repair in space is not much of a help when anything you have attacked is on u like white on rice anyway. What are your favorites? Specials? Loadouts? any reasons for not going IMP? There is little or no PVP on INtrepid, what server has Live PVP in space?

Here is a little incentive for doing something other than Imp pilot.... variety.

I think freelance has the better ships for PvE. High damage output and high defenses make a big difference in PvE. While speed and manueverability doesn't (except for against vettes). We also have better specials for dealing with PvE. Sure Pirate trap seems useless but those 3 tier 1's draw fire and 9 times out of 10 in a ship with 3 weapons and a missile launcher, that is all the time you need.

BTW: Most of us can solo a vette (or two) plus escorts using no specials and no missiles. Also... I wouldn't brag about anything dealing with WO3 since it is bugged and uses less energy than using no overloads.

Hah! I've done your missions, a walk in the park!

I just finished Storm Squadron again, hadn't done it in a long time. Even now, with updated equipment and more skill, SS still gives a pretty good workout. Other thant the threat of dying from boredom on Vortex escort missions, nothing in the rebel branches came close.

Skill indeed!

And I get to fly in my nifty, official black Imperial flight suit.

Yeah...too bad it cuts the circulation off at the neck!

All those blackouts it's causing must be why you guys keep running into my lasers

If you want to talk abuot flavor, or being "in character" or feeling like your really part of the fiction, Imperial pilot really does have the atmosphere.

If you want to talk ships, PvP wise, the Imperial Pilot has a few advantages. Pre ROTW you had the T/I, T/A, and T/O to choose from for PvP. Even a T/Ln if you wanted to be a nutcase. Post ROTW Easier access to the JSF, the small freaking hitboxed Royal guard Interceptor, and you have the tie oppressor for the "i win" Tri IR2 missle launches.

If you want to talk ships PvE wise, i think rebels have it a tinsy bit better with the Xwing and advanced xwing.

If you want to talk about post ace content (IE, Teir 4 missions), imperial pilot got the shaft and rebels have it far better.

my 2 cents.

Gotta add that the ace jacket goes REALLY good with a command hat too. Chicks dig that setup!

That said, the Advanced X-Wing is the king of PVE imo.

True, the ultralights seem to be made for PvP almost exclusively.

And for Rebels, we've got a nice counter to the black suit with the B-Wing Survival Suit. Very cool looking in the silver and white. I wear a crafted fighter flightsuit in blue typically.

Player imp shoots off my engines, does a flashy flyby. I hit /vrepair and send him back to endor.

Repair in space is fun

Don't hurt yourselves patting yourselves on the back kids.

I mean there has to be some reason they gave you easier NPCs to fight for the ace missions and only tier3 gunboats on your Advanced ship mission. Maybe they thought y'all deserved a rest after all your "hard work" calling in the bstrike.

I didn't find the rebel vette to be especially difficult. Havn't seen those T3 gunboats in kash yet.

But.

We're straying from the real issue at hand, once again. Black flight suit > ugly stupid rebel scum orange flight suit.

I disagree about PvE here Duc, The krayte is the BEST PvE fighter in the game. more mass and better handling then any X wing. Same firepower on paper for the pilot but with more mass then the Heavy X I have crafted level 9 guns that have a refire rate of .250.... I would like to see an X wing carry what I do and but I also have 4 of those guns for when I ahve a good gunner.

As for specials I don't use them much. In fact using the EPulse a few nights ago was the first time I had used any in mroe then a month. But then I ahven't been attacked at the same time by three player A wings in a few monthes either. Wish I could ahve seen there faces when they realised I had killed them all after they had jumped me. Was a hollow victory since the fighters I originaly had been fighting were able to hit me with missles while my shields were gone. I kkilled them and the NPCs killed me : (

Haven't really used missles much and I need to break that habit with more people getting Jedi Fighters to try and kill me

I have a JSF that I've spec'ed out to do more damage than most Heavy X-Wings per second, plus my PROTOTYPE Oppressor TEST BED with my infamous 5237.2 mated with another highly respectable (yet much older) L10 weapon on it, easily does the most damage of any ship on the server.

My future triple-L10ed Krayt will easily be the most lethal ship damagewise in the game.
