I used to be a ranger!
Does that get me brownie points?
no. but it gets you cake and ice cream points.
I don't give brownie points out anymore. I had a bad experience with a batch of "modified brownie points.

I realize everyday as I draw closer to 5000 posts that the amount of time I've spent posting has in no way, shape or form improved my spelling, punctuation, grammar or ability to use Lithiums' posting service. Meh. I get by.
Little help for that one.
Damn, and I've just been using Dictionary.com all this time...
niiiiiice.
punchbowls on two forums. cross-forum punchbowl dives.
How nice to hear!
Usually everybody just hates my guts

That's it. You're all nominated for the Ranger Club. 'cause those are basically the requirements to be a real Ranger.

Does this mean that we get to be called Space Rangers?
(or will Disney sue us if we do?)
I definitely echo what Phenix says. Until a fewmonths ago, I was stalled out at Tier 2Black Epsilon (stuck on the first Tier 3 mission), and had all but given up on JtL. Then RoTW came out, and I had to figure out how to beat those Chiss guys that were several Tiers above me in order to get into the hunting grounds...
I now sit at Tier 3 (2333), solo'd every Tier 3 mission so far. For the most part I laugh at Tier 4 fighters, can take on the occassional Tier 5 thrown in for good measure, and am having more fun than I've had in a long time in the game doing stuff solo. Biggest reasons I'm not done are 1) casual play schedule and 2) still working on tactics to take out that dang Karthak Queen solo before she hypers out. I have no problems making it through the entire mission on my own, but I just haven't found the right mix of things to take that bugger out before she gets away. I keep trying tho, and I WILL solo it - it's only a matter of time and getting my flying skills to the point where she doesn't stand a chance against me. One of you made a very true statement in a post here somewhere, along the lines of "there are only 2 types of missions - those you've already beaten, and those you haven't beaten yet". I apologize for mangling it, it was stated a bit more eloquently but I can't seem to find where it is at the moment.
Anyways... it is largely due to posts and info from Tomo, psikobunny and all you other Ace'shere that I can directly see my piloting skills getting better as I apply the things I learn here. The FAQs you all have put together are amazingly helpful, and just reading through many of the posts here, I see that the Pilot community is one that I wish to join just about as much as I wanted to be a Master Ranger when I first started the game a year ago. Mature and toughtful folks, great senses of humor, a real sense of community, and one of the better forums on the boards. I salute you all - Reb, Imp and Neutral alike - and look forward to someday mastering pilot, so I can then begin my journey to Master pilot.

Ya know, call me screwy, but I really kinda liked that show...
Are you thinking Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers (the show)? Or Toy Story / Buzz Lightyear Space Rangers (the movies)?
I've still got my Ranger membership card with dues paid, even though I've retired from the job.

I agree with most of what you said, except the two comments above don't normally fit into the same thread.
For example: "jedi powers in space" posts.

How'd I miss this post?
/hi5 Rangers!
You know I went all the way up the tracking line in Ranger once, it was a lot of fun. I did a lot of tracking, hunting, camping, and fishing on Lok back in those days. Eventually I dumped ranger to put the skill points in to Smuggler, I should have known better ![]()
