Thread: Tomo, you'd better do something fast, because Space PvP Balance just went out the window!

Imps have always had something to take out A wings, very quckly, and very harshly. It's just that most ppl didn't and apparently still don't realize it. JSF is just one more log on the fire of imbalance that has always favored the Empire.

I've mastered imp pilot about 5 times. As an imperial pilot i stopped counting my PvP kills at about 34 or so, and only kept up with my losses. The dirt bare bones truth, pre ROTW, is this:
Rebels have:
-A wing
Imperials have:
- Tie interceptor
- Tie Advanced
- Tie Oppressor.
THe worst of whch is the oppressor. When you figure out a way to consistantly get around three MK II Image-Rec missles at once, you be sure to post it won't you? A T/O shuts the A wing down harshly. Its a unique ship in that its the only starship with that many missle tubes, has the lowest profile of all the master ships, and is alot more manuverable then ppl give it credit for. MK II IR's only take about 1 to 1.5 seconds to aquire a lock.
ONLY, the Empire has this ability, the rebels do not have anything similar in their inventory unless you want to count the that mediem sized house called the Longprobe, and the oppressor outclasses this ship by a good leap in profile, manuverablity, and has 1 more missle tube on top of that.
Now, toss in the JSF, and heavy tie fighter on top of all that. Rebel pilot whines have merit, and to be honestly i recently became one myself, because its more of a challenge then the cheese on a stick you get as an Imperial pilot.
The way I see it, things will balance it self out evetually.. How? You may ask...
Well how many times can a person pick up their fancy shmancy new chassis after they wear the first one wears out?

New pilot, havn't pvp'd in space ever. Can anyone shed some light on how well a KSE firespray does? Should it be a Master Level Ship?
Hehehehe.. now there's a can of worms for ya. Personally, I love my Firespray and have used it in PvP quite successfully. Other pilots will disagree with me. Most Imperial pilots like the mass and weapons configuration. Many rebels/Nuetrals are not as keen on it because they have equal or better options in terms of higher mass.
When I was Nuetral I liked the Krayt a bit more, otherwise FireSpray remains one of my favorite ships. (I make room for it in my datapad currently)

Right on. Rebs may not have pvp superiority, but with a high mass X-wing, they have superiority over everything else.To go to the extremes as they did simply seems... broken.
We Privateers got the Vaksai, which also looks pretty unbalanced, and surprisingly nobody has really mentioned it. All the new ships seem somewhat balanced, TO EACH OTHER, but not to the old staples that define this time in SW history.
I guess it's about serving 2 types of people. Either those who preferto have more and more choices(like yours truly), or those who want to get the latest and greatest "whatever" and own everyone, if even for a couple weeks.
Well the Vaksai has the YPR of a dune lizzard with one gun and 1.0 speed instead of .95 so thats not out of balance
However space pvpv is all about speed an maneuverability...the new fighters being limited does unbalance things
