Most of the delays in the movies was due to the Falcon's hyper drive crapping out at the last second.

I think the delay should not cause us to lose directional control.

I was flying a Y-Wing in DeepSpace along with 3 guys in Jedi Starfighters (Yes, they are rebel, they went imp just to get the ship then changed back). Came up against single ships 4 times (an Oppressor, 2 RGI's, and a JSF), and of course I get blown up first each time, with little trouble on the part of the enemy.

Now I don't expect to come out on top every single time or anything, but at least 1 out of the 4 times I should have at least been able to get a hit on the enemy before I died. I'm quite a good pilot in the heavy ships, since thats all I fly, but its pointless for me to even try PvP against tiny ships that can literaly run rings around me.

Would you like some cheese to go with that whine?

Small, fast and very manuverable ships will aslo fly rings around bombers and attack ships. You must first understand the reason for a given hull design and then use that ship for that purpose.

Don't fly Tie Bombers againts A wings. You will die if you do.

Yes, I understand that the fighters will always have superior manuevering, but then a heavy ship should have superior armor/shieldsor something to make up for it. Which it doesn't, especially not with the way PvP is set up. Having better weapons is of no real importance, because even a level 7 crafted gun can easily take out any legal sheild in 1 shot.

Armor, even of the heaviest form, offers at most 1 extra shot in PvP, which doesn't offset the fact that the ship is a much bigger target and easily hit. Not to mention that with the newer ships, a very small and manueverable ship is often able to hold the best shields (level 8 reward in most cases) anyway.

I don't really care all that much anyway, I don't like space PvP much because its boring anyway. Flying in super tight circles trying to get lucky enough to get a hit in on your enemy just doesn't appeal to me. I just wish it was more of what they made it out to be when they were describing JtL, where it was entirely skill based and the ship that you chose was mainly personal preference rather than ship choice more or less deciding whether you have a chance.

Glad I'm not the only one - I find it only happens on first encounter, though. After that, it's smooth sailing.

Though I do have to admit that PvP is less challenging in a JSF - between the stagger fire, I really have to be off to avoid hitting someone. My L6 hits, they live for another second - my L8 hits, and it's off to the starbase.

I've put up the saddle for a while until they fix the respec popups - one of those in a dogfight and you'd be dust since it so nicely corrects you to straight and level flight - something you don't want to happen during a knife fight.

How are people going to learn situational awareness, the #1 skill for space PVP, if you tell them you're coming every time? The way to get better at PVP is to die a lot, come back, and do better, not have someone take mercy on you.

Why do space pvp?

Because there are no unballanced uber jedi professions in space.

It is only Your skill as a player and yoru ability to deck out a uber ship.

Ahh the good old days of Xwing vs Tie fighter, only the skill of the player mattered.

Lately I've been tempted to send people messages that I'm coming, then hyper out. Somehow I think that's even meaner than sneaking up on them.

About the only thing I'll do to "warn" someone is target them three times fast - I know you hear ONE "plink" noise when someone targets you - maybe if someone heard three they'd pay attention to it.

Besides, if you sent a message, half the time someone would take the time to type "HUH?!?!?!" giving you even MORE of a chance to waste them.
