not to bring the hell of the other thread over here, but engines do not seem to suffer the difference in cert/re level thing.

Inconclusive - if no one's ever listed such an item on the bazaar or registered vendors, it won't show no matter how many are in existence.

Not all 8 of the KSE Firespray schematic fragments show on a vendor search on Kauri, yet Firespray ships exist...

Sorry to disappoint you, but I RE'd an engine today where two of the parts were Cert 4/RE 5. I put one of them in the tool first to get a level 4 engine with level 5 performance and lower mass/drain stats (not that it makes much difference cert-wise).

Cool. Hasn't happened on ahazi with any engine I have seen on the bazaar, friend's pile or my pile. So i stand by my statement.

The L10 Novaldex Black Hole engine I think is relatively new, looted my first one 2 or 3 months ago, and(as sickening as it is, considering all the loot names), I thought, "I don't recognize THAT name"...and generally, outside of rewards, there aren't a great deal of componentsof whichone company makes more than 1 type per level(as I also recalled that Novaldex already produced a DIFFERENT L10 engine).

Thou seekest the Novaldex J-77 "Event Horizon" engine, Certification Level 4/Reverse Engineering Level 2

I can second you Ritha. I have been searching for level 8 and level 10 engines for months now and havent come across one with the name matching that Blackhole.

What's this Novaldex "Blackhole" Elite... engine? I've never seen or heard of that on Ahazi.

I used a Blackhole as the first engine in a set I RE'd many months ago, so it's been around a while, probably since JTL launched. We've found every type of gun listed, too, and going off that, I think it's pretty likely all the components you'll ever see in the vendor search do exist as drops, though some may be (much) rarer than others.

Oh yeah, and it's a GRB-1138 Elite - not a THX-1138 (which was Lucas' first movie), from where the number comes from.

It has long been a theory of mine that loot stats are generated by some sort of inverse-normal curve function.

That is, taking the statistics of all loot drops, the distribution will look like some sort of bell curve.

That would explain why certain reactors of the same name drop with insanely high (25k+) or insanely low (0) generation--Whatever the space loot devs set as the variance for that particular component was incredibly high, and no hard caps are used.

If you agree to that logic, then the 98.0 speed reactor doesn't necessarily have to be some sort of pre-nerf. It just has to be a very rare event drop...Maybe the mean formost level8 engine drops is 75 with a standard deviation of 5. That would mean 99.73% of the drops should fall between 60-90, though a very small chance exists that you'll see a number greater than that.

Of course, that actual means and standard deviations for each individual loot piece would require a sufficiently large sample (30+ of each) to accurately determine, so it is no surprise that no one has plotted the pdfs for each loot piece.

Maybe you need to learn how to phrase your assertions so that they actually reflect an opinion rather than a fact.

Stand by your statement in spite of the evidence against it, and you're wrong. Refuse to accept that your limited view of things does not reflect reality, and you're stubborn. Expect that people won't see through it, and you're a fool.

How about you simply say "As far as I've seen" rather than making blanket statements? Is it a language barrier thing, or are you just prouder than you are smart?
