On that one, personally I'd stick to the "heavy" and just use a stronger gun. However there is something to be said for two gun slots. I know the mass on the Heavy TIE is around 90k, but I can't remember what the mass on the TIE advance is. Anyone remember or know right off hand?

65k which will be a big step dwon from the Heavy, but well worth it IMHO.

Nope. It's got roughly 1/2 the agility.

That would make me lean toward the TIE Advance then. That is if the pilot is willing to spend the cash on it vs. keeping the Heavy (since they already own it).

No, he is saying the advanced has half the agility as the Heavy.

That beong said, what he means is responsiveness. The actual ratio of max turn rates is the same as the speed mod, 1.0 for the Advanced to 0.98 for the Heavy, not a big enough difference to make it a deciding factor. The reason to choose the Advanced is the the smaller profile and two weapon slots, the reason to choose the Heavy is the higher mass and higher speed of best turning rate.

dont knock the aggy, i flew it grinding t4 and carried it well into ace pvping with it, it maybe be big and easy to hit with only one forward gun, but you can pack alot more in it, thus for grinding id go with the aggy

there is no reason to use a the t/ag for grinding eithersince the advanced packs more firepower despite the lower mass. if you are a 4433 pilot grinding your other 2 tier4 boxes, then the best you could hope to mount in a t/ag is a single re'd l8 tri-cannon. in a tie/adv loaded out for grinding with big guns you could mount a pair of re'd l7 guns easily and deal way more damage than the t/ag. even if you are a master pilot and have an above agerage re'dl10 gun, the t/adv still has an advantage in firepower.

and on top of the increased damage output, you are going to be alot more acurate in the small fighter and get a far greater hit percentage. add to that increased speed/manuverability and vastly improved survivability in dangerous situations, and the t/ag becomes totaly worthless unless you are taking up a friend who is mentaly handicaped and incapable of flying their own ship.

If you're in the T/Adv, I wouldn't go 4433 anyway, with only 65k mass L8 equipment just isn't urgent at all. The only thing you'd be likely to use is an engine, and that only for PvP. Go 4343, and have the better bomber strike available if you need it (or have the lesser one be more reliable).

i agree completely, i was just using 4433 as an example of what a t/ag fan would want.

prehaps im just a nut, but i prefer the aggy, the advance seems...lacking for me, light bomber all the way baby
