I seriously doubt a tractor beam helps your yield per chunk. I don't see proof, AND I can mine much faster with just lasers and not the tractor beam and fancy macros. I only use a targeting macro. If you are good at judging distance/speed of your target and where to place fire, you can mine much faster..

As a Master Freelance Pilot I use a kimo with 2 Mark IIIs in the first two weapon slots and a tractor beam in the third. I can fill my large hold in about 10-15 min easily
I do the following I fire both mining lasers at once breaking off a chunk then target it and follow it when I'm about 90m away I turn on the tractor beam and fire a volley from my mining lasers. most if not all are sucked into my hold quickly.

I never said I couldn't get it to work. I'm saying that I'm a good enough shot to not need it. Maybe you should scroll up and read my original post about this again..

True, that version is almost fully automated. I just have /tar asteroid, and I'll match speed or boost to it, depending on range.

Trust me it does. use it right and you'll mine ALOT faster.
What i used to do is break off the initial chunk.
then let it go by, then follow it, get right on its arse
Activate the tractor beam
THEN blow it up.
Do it right and you'll scope up most if not all of the asteroid at the get go. Takes practice to get it right
Mining is a PITA, and i want efficiency. I dont think Imps can solo mine with efficinecy. The B wing is acutally the best solo miner.
For a fullscale operation i think a POB ship with tractor beams in both turrets to act as a harvester with one fighter equpied with mining lasers breaking chunks and another flying escort could yeild enough ast material to be profitable.

Um, no suggestions need to be made. All the information is out there if you bother to look. I don't know why you're so upset because some people have success with a tractor beam.
