If you fly the Heavy-X a bit more like a fighter and less like a tank you can easily get by with a L5/L6 shield on it. 3 L10 guns FTW!

Still, more defenses are always nice. I don't think you're exactly giving up much for it ... after all, I'm flying a standard X right now, so the most defense-heavy Heavy X is going to hit harder than me with good parts.

I did mean mean PvE ofc.More defences does allow for some lazier flying which can be sustained for hours of lootgrinding. 2 hours non-stop PvE furball with 1500 or lessf/bis exhausting.

i have a lvl 6 shield on my heavy x with 1580 f/b and i do BS duties all the time(just got my helm this morn finally)

thanks for all your input, i'm gunna go with 2 lvl 8's and a lvl 10 then upgrade some of my other stuff, one thing i noticed a lot was people using im-rec missles or something like that, what are they and why those over other missles?

17 pt SW can get MK III protons in same lock on time range and better damage
