Contradiction. TIE Fighter has 20K mass, I'm all for giving out a 20K mass reward ship.
Slightly off-topic: How many Imperial pilots here have gone into Deep Space with a TIE Fighter (and I don't mean the Heavy). Myself and a few others I know have done it in the TIE/In, but I was never daring enough to try the fighter.

I dunno if you realize this, but that page generated literally 60 popups before I CTRL+ALT+DEL'ed Internet Explorer. That's 60 popups within 10 seconds.

Use my Clicky. Shouldn't have pop-ups, being that it is a .org site. Plus, my Clickys have a little more information about each ship.

Here is some stuff about the V-wing starfighter (click the name).
Now, does that look like this?
And...

You wonder why I say no? Upgrade POB ships like mentioned in this thread . Give us something to do with our Prestige points like stuff mentioned over here . Add the YT-2400. YT-2400 picture (Outrider) . Then I might consider it.
Yea, give us the YT-2400. Give us neutrals something that actually resembles something out of STAR WARS...NOT StarGate or Star Trek!

The V-wing is supposed to be the other crap that JSF didnt have blended together to make the tie.
It does look very much like an A-wing.
Would it hurt to throw some ships in here that actually exist in star wars though? not these inventions of EU or SOE

Now with that being said, do you really want a V-wing?

I don't care what it is. As long as it's something that was actually in Star Wars, and not invented by Sony.

Yeah, they made them cheaper with low cost components.
That made up statistic of 99% of the community is silly, BTW.
FYI, we are discussing a society that has existed for over 25,000 years with Intergalactic Commerce. In 25,000 years, just about any and every technology that can be developed, has been developed. All this means is that what is available in this imagined society "today" is available based solely upon the current needs and tastes of society.
In the last days of the Republic, performance and style were more important then any other factors, in developing products. In the time of the Empire, cheap but capable was the mantra. Hence the major design change philosophy.
If anything, the RotW ships, being built for far better performance and style, makes incredible sense that those starships are in fact "better" then the offerings available during the time of the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire.
The Star Wars Universe, having had a Galactic spanning society for as long as it has, is FAR less affected by linear technology development then we in our still extremely primitive are affected. If you toss out the primitive idea of linear technological development, when looking at the Star Wars Universe, everything that can happen there makes much more sense.
You are wrong about the TIE Fighter. Go read the history on the official Star Wars site. It was an advanced prototype at the end of the Clone Wars. Then they made improvements to it. It was much more capable than most of the Clone Wars ships...and, as we all know, one of the least capable of the OT era ships.
As for the progression of technologystopping, I'd have to say don't know much history. I can count many times when people, famous scientists for that matter, have said that humans have discovered all there is to discover, that they have reached such a sophistication in technolgy that it will never be surpassed. and yet we continue on. There will always be more to discover and invent, the universe is infinite. Thinking that any society would, or even could, hit a a cap isn't very forsightful.
EDIT: Summary - No more clone ships

What...you mean like the ENTIRE privateer proffession excepting the YT?
Serious lazyiness and pompuosness on the part of the developers for making so many ridiculous hsip when suitable alternatives already exsisted.

V-Wing eh, are those the one that looked like early tie-fighters, the ones that looked really cool.
