Nice build. I'll have to chime in and agree that you could gain a bit more mass by downgrading to a chaff launcher, and even more by dropping the armor down to lvl1. Face it, one good shot in pvp will chew through 550 points just as well as 100, andthat'll leave youanother 2.5k mass or so to get the reward gun in there.

Only other thing I can see is the capacitor. You should be able to get energy in the high 900s-1k on a lvl2 RE.

Thanks!

I'll test if there is a difference when using chaffs and sensor decoy in pvp. I'll test them against the Image rec mark II. If i get owned both ways, i'll reduce it to a chaff ^^

I have some nice capacitators re'ed lvl 2 with 1200 energy, recharge 40, but all were too heavy for this Tie. Anyway, once I use cap overload III and Wo3, i can fire forever with this little one

You need 4k? Switch out the armor.

As a shipwright on Bloodfin, I get 1800 mass or better (lower) on level 3 cert armor using mass reduction. Combine that with MAYBE a level one booster (crafted) at roughly 750 mass and that would save you 4500 mass and there ya go. Also, since you only need 11260 reactor generation, make you a custom reactor (check energy drain on that level 8 to make sure it will work). I make custom level 1 reactors that hit around 11.5K gen with about 1100 mass. That will save another 200 (almost).

Good luck.

I agree with some of the pilots above... for mass, swap out that armor for some RE'd lvl 1 (if your PvP ship's armor is hit, you're in trouble anyway, and you probably already did something wrong). Make sure that the gun you choose fires quickly, to make up for its only having one gun. I would also save some mass witha regular Chaff launcher, and perhaps re-evaluate your choice of Missles. Sounds like a pretty nice ship!

The best fighter-class RE armor is based off the L4 Sienar Flight Systems Light Military Grade Durasteel. 2049.x mass, always REs down to 1986.x. L4 plates can be looted as high as 7xx HP. Personally, I have the room on my JSF for L6 plates based off the CEC Triplate.

I would also try for a faster gun.. but thats me.. 0.25 speed blasters cuts through Tier 5 gunboat like butter

You can't get odd-numbered RE guns much under .300. Most of the best are .310 or a little lower.

JointMaker, you're on Radiant... correct? (Unless there's a Terminus on Lok on other servers)

Could we get in touch in-game in regards to setting up my Imperial Guard TIE (and my JSF as well)? I'm having trouble finding a SW to really work with...

Heh, nice! But I managed to get a Cert 10 Cannon wedged into mine

No chaff, no armour, fast engine, ok shield. it is basically a really fast flying cannon

Another idea to help out the mass: Dump the crafted shields for a RE'd level 7 shield. You should be able to get about the same mass and protection for about half the energy needs. (Note: This should be made a little easier if you use the "Protect-O Net" from the Nym's Starmap quest series.)

With the energy you saved, then, get a level 1 loot engine with around 500 less mass.

Question on the Royal Guard Interceptor:

The pilot FAQ says the RGI has 1.0 speed with 300PY and 150R at 90k mass.

It also says the the Heavy TIE is .98 speed with 500PY and 250R at 95k mass.

Why should I (and why do you) use the RG Int over the heavy TIE? Is there something I'm missing?

(Acceptable answers include I like the way it looks or it was free, but I'm wondering if there are performance considerations also, I can't imagine the extra .02 speed is worth it.)
