If you're storing items in your YT - can you land, and fly a different ship - or are you forced to empty the inventory of your YT first before you can fly a different ship?

I know you can store stuff (other than loot) in the loot box - and are able to fly other ships without penalty.

I assumed the loot box and the ship capacity in general were 75 items combined - not seperate storage spaces each having an individual; capacity opf 75 items. Sounds like I was (plesently) wrong about this. =)
