LoL, awesome, 1 star from a DAOC fanboy. I guess the truth hurt to much
If DAOC is such a great MMORPG, why are you playing SWG?
I never bother to give out ratings, be it one or five. I'd rather respond with arguments. DAoC was fun but crafting was borked and there was no option to put up an npc vendor. Used to be a Master Weaponsmith there and am extremely familiar with the term tell-hell. When my alts became known I either had to re-roll them and hide from everyone, or just give up and quit the game. DAoC has got it's issues just like any MMORPG (even WOW <grin>
, no month would pass without professions being modified and getting a new fotm (complaints on the forum), here a profession needs to wait months for changes (complaints on the forum) hard to walk the middle road for a dev team.
Coming from DAoC I'm just annoyed to see SWG as a game where PVP is meant to be an important part of the content without any incentives to actually go do it.
Camelot has the relics. Having your own relics and relics of the other realms gave you realm an overal boost to something (dmg output for example). SWG... none
Camelot has the Herald. Listings of realmpoints gathered by guild and players which gave you a good idea of the top guild/players and status if you were high up. SWG has faction points in place, would it be that hard to keep a counter running?
Camelot had the keeps in the frontiers. You had to go buy thetop2 resources for the top weaponsat those keeps. Were those keeps in ememy hands... sorry, no weapons for you. SWG... none
Camelot may have had or still have the Mez first I win button, but how is that different from krayted stunguns, defense stackers, stun helmets, etc. It gets fixed there, it gets fixed here.
And the main reason I play SWG is twofold. The player driven economy and because back when Privateer1 came out I thought that it would be agreat game to play with more people, being able to walk around the planets and spacestations and such. SWG is the closest thing to it. EVE and Earth and beyond were rpg based space combats, I wanted skill based. All 3 neutrals mastered now and still loving it. Even going to give PvP another go in a smaller ship and see if it is indeed possible to stretch a fight out to 30-60 secs. Heavy Black Sun is just to slow and big.
