Thread: PYR on level 8 engines

Yes, the closer your YPR numbers to your speed numbers is the tighter you turn. Throttleing works, except most ships have a "sweet spot", and with ships that have a sweet spot at 85% or highter, you do not want to drop that throttle so far.
I prefer my slower engine that lets me turn tighter at the sweet spot on my ship.
But seeing as I've got a 103.2 QID to work with, I might wait a while longer and see if I can't find/buy/trade for better.

High speed engines plus heavy frames require a special touch, maybe he hasn't figured out his throttles yet.
I CAN fly an Oppressor, but with the inertial slides I just don't LIKE to.

he's actually right but imo opinion the speed outweighs
your YPR is a DIRECT mod to maxdegrees rotation per second (at sweet spot/range depending on ship)and is modified by engine override commands. The thing is the faster your going the larger the arc at the same degrees per second (geometry sry) and also your turning acceleration are affected by your spd's in that say for a vaksai with 400/400/200 mod's has an 80/80/80 PYR engine for pitch/yaw you have 80/400 or .2 secs to get to max angular acceleration and for roll 80/200 or .4 sec's to get to it
so in a huge dogfight I'd want a decent spd HIGH PYR engine with EO4 anyday unless in JSF/greivous then highest everything cause 40-100% is sweetspot range approx with little variance in that range
EDIT - oh +69 lvl 6 and +72 lvl 8 imo

Fixed!
And it is personal preference definatly, i just like the tight turns

Been working with a lot of L8 engines lately, and 71 is ok, 72-3 is good, 74+ is great. I have yet to see any break 75.
I have looted a dozen level 8 engines this week and not one of them had Y, P or R that was greater than 69.5.

hmm, just found a level 8 engine that I must have REd before I knew what I know now.
armor/hitpoints - 685.6
drain - 1622.2
mass - 26334
pitch - 77.1
yaw - 77.9
roll - 72.3
top spd - 79.8
If only would have waited for nyms......

I would imagine that dialing down the throttle would keep the turning radius pretty small. But never compared the two personally.
I looted me a real level 8winner last night... YPR of 67/67/67 and a mass of 43K. The thing is best used as a doorstop at Jabba's Palace. Why do I only loot really, really lousy level 8 engines?

That sounds like a reward engine, what was the name?
I'm working on a better one atm, but my current lvl 8 engine on my A-wing was this.
The speed from the Quantum Ion Drive off the Nym starmap quest which gave me 93 as a speed prior to Re..I think.
The r,p,y I had on my engines pre re were in the 70's but I know one of them for the pitch had a pitch of 75 before re.
mass wise, it is perfectly pheasable to re a lvl 8 egine to a littl eover 22k mass.
the stats on my a-wing lvl 8 engine after RE are:-
Mass: 22614
Top Speed: 98.5
Pitch: 79.4
Yaw: 76.2
Roll: 76.2
and the energy drain is around 1500 so this thing runs EO4 rather nicely. This engine strapped into my A-wing allows me to compete with even a good pilot in a JSF rather well...even though I still refuse to shed even a little amount of respect for a JSF.
For general interest's sake, the (max) r,p,y achieved by this engine is 1.4 for Pitch and 1.3 for roll and yaw.

[What I'm aiming for with this new one is a higher top speed...only a tad though. This one I got is 97 speed prior to RE and I'm waiting for r,p,y of 75 prior to re so I can achieve that r,p,y around 79 after re...but this lately I looted 10 lvl 8 engines and all the r,p,y's on them have been terrible...like in the mid 60's which isn't good enough]
