That's a new looking weapon, certainly.
My guess: the Jedi Starfighter is a fighter without an onboard computer or a droid slot. It's all Jedi powers, baby. The weapon likely hits a wider range of targets so that you don't have to hit exactly.
Advantage: Jedi powers
Disadvantage: No droid commands
If that's the case, I'm good with that.

Unless this has been backed up by offical SOE word, then no one knows for sure (apart from the Sandbox people...and they wouldn't want to break the NDA, would they hmm??) then everything is pure speculation

hey im just going with the friday feature. It says external astromech support and you can sort of see the little spot where it would sit.

Hmmm a new weapon or the mining attachment.
The devs said that any ship will have the ability to mine, But the mining ship will be better. Kindof like the personal harvestors to the the bigger ones. Can't remember which site said that I'll try to find it.

Thanks for the clicky.
Anyway, it could be a new weapon, or the aforementioned weapon effect. I can only hope it is...Jedi powers in space would NOT be a good thing to the rest of us pilots...

It's not a new weapon, the weapon it's firing is already in the game.
What you're seeing in the picture is basically the "muzzle flash" of the weapon firing.
Sorry to disappoint you.

I had a weapon effect like this on a L8 RE gun I used to have. Its a bit distracting from inside the ship so I stopped using it after awhile I will go through my ship junk and see if I can post a screenie.
