Thread: What did you want for an endgame?

'm sitting in a factional space station, in the mess area. There's other Rebels going this and that way about their business, some comparing and upgrading their ships components in the hangar, some having discussions about tactics against that squad of eyeballs last nightin the lounge with others gambling at a large table in the middle of the same room, others at the cockpit looking at our course and what's ahead.

Suddenly...

The lights dim. Alarms begin blaring, red lights are flashing all over. Everyone looks at the person sitting across from them before dropping what they're were doing and sprinting down the long, metal hallways to the briefing room.

In the briefing room they are given information on what set off the alarm: a Star Destroyer has entered a hotzone, an area where they have the ability to take over the sector by destroying Rebel implacements and stations. In this instance, the target is the station they are all aboard.

After a quick briefingmanysprint to the hangar, each with their ship standing in the massive room with a terminal beside it, while the rest of the Rebels man one of the hundred turrets on the station (it's a big station), and still more pick up ship repair tools and prepare to keep the station operation even after sustaining fire. In the hangar there are shouts for a heavier reactor and lighter weapon across the hangar, people scrambling to outfit their ships for the battle. Within moments ships are taking off, one by one.

"Red 12, clear."

"Red 6, clear."

"Red 19, clear."

As more and more exit the hangar, they form up into squadrons above the station. A squadron of bombers, consisting of B-Wings and Y-Wings with a manned turret in the back, a squadron of fighters consisting of X-Wings and a couple ARC-170's is assigned to provide cover for a group of 5 Nova's, and a squadron of A-Wings is assigned to fly in, make the first strike to disperse the enemy, and then form up to cover the squadron of bombers.

The call is made for the closest Rebel capitol ship. A Nebulon B Frigate shows up within moments, coming out of hyperspace several clicks away. As the group comes together, all in their seperate squadrons but all with one mindset, there is a shout over the comm:

"The Imperials have come out of hyperspace!"

Suddenly, just 10 clicks away and directly in front, a massive Imperial fleet appears. One fully equiped Star Destroyer, with an escort of 10 gunboats and numerous TIE squadrons consisting of everything from the basic TIE Fighter to the deadly TIE Aggressor. Without warning they push forward at full speed, heading for the Rebel station.

The Rebel fleet, outnumbered but definately not lacking firepower, does the same by putting all power to their engines and heading for the Imperial fleet. Within moments they are on top of each other. The A-Wings run in and shoot wildly, not caring what they hit or about taking out the enemy. They continue flying through the squadrons and out the back. They are soon followed by the X-Wings, ARC-170's and Nova's, who begin decimating the TIE's, all the while the A-Wings pull a sharp turn and come in from behind. The escort of gunboats joins the fray, who clash with the B-Wings and Y-Wings, many of who are pursued by the faster and more agile TIE's but not detroyed thanks to the prestine protection of the A-Wings.

The Nova's are the center of the fray, with fighters flying in circles around them, jousting to and frow. The Nova's are able to endure though thanks to their extremely powerful shields and armor. Every time a TIE moves in to strafe the Nova, an X-Wing falls in behind and blows the eyeball up before it can do any serious damage.

The Rebel Frigate, which had been holding back behind the fray, now enters. With the Star Destroyer on one side, the Frigate on another, and the fighters all in between the two, they open up their sides in order to fire as many turrets as possible at the other. Both open up with a furry of fire, with several fighters being caught in the crossfire. The people manning the turrets of the Frigate, combined with volleys of spacebombs from the Nova's that have made it in range, theyare able to take out the shields of the Star Destroyer, and immediately a troop transport is called in for the Rebellion, though the Frigate is rendered useless by having its engine blown seconds later, with mechanics running around inside desperately trying to repair it.

A transport carrying a group of15 Rebel Special Forces leaves the Rebel Station, which is now a mere 2 clicks away. Several A-Wings and X-Wings are called away from the fray to escort the bulky, slow moving transport. Inside, the Rebels trade powerups for their weapons and put on their armor. Slowly but surely, the transport makes it through the sea of blaster fire and to the docking bay of the Star Destroyer. With the shields gone, and the Rebel escort taking out any turrets which could prove a danger, the transport lands inside the Star Destroyers hangar.

Immediately the Rebel Special Forces jump out and begin oppening blaster fire on the Stormtroopers and Imperial Specal Forces manning the capitol ship. The hangar is relatively empty, as the enemy is preoccupied with manning the turrets and bringing the shields back up. They move through the hallways switfly, encountering a desperate mechanic here and there who they are forced to subdue.

Soon, they reach the engine room. Over the commlink the forces hear:

"The Star Destroyer is within range of the Rebel Station! Return fire!"

They are too late to prevent damage being done to the station, but not too late to win the battle.

The forces set explosives on the engines which detonate after 60 seconds. They begin a mad dash towards the bridge, disregarding precautionary movements due to the imminent danger the station was in.

"34 turrets have been downed!" says a Rebel in the stations cockpit, looking over the damage report as it is constantly updated.

"37!"

"45!"

"Secondary Shields have been breached!"

Just then the Rebel Special Forces come to the bridge, only to be met by 10 Imperial Special Forces and various Stormtroopers guarding the enterance ways. After a fierce battle all the Imperials in the bridge have fallen, though there are still many in the turrets and various rooms repairing components. The Rebels access the main terminal on the bridge and set it to Self Destruct.Alarms go off, and thecountdown begins:

"Five minutes until self destruct" a mechanical voice says.

The Rebels sprint out of the bridge and down the long hallways and back towards the hangar. The troop transport is still there, along with the two Special Forces members who had been guarding it. They hop in and launch, with fighters once again being called from the fray (which has been ongoing) to escort it back to the Rebel station. Once outside the hangar, they can see streaks leaving the Star Destroyer from all angles - escape pods being launched.

And then, with a massive flash of light, the Star Destroyer and all aboard it disappear. The remaining TIE's and Gunboats are either destroyed or jump to lightspeed, hypering out of the system.

The station is safe, though it will take time to repair. The sector, a key sector in determining who has the ability to control the Galactic Civil War on the ground, remains safe in the hands of the Rebellion....

........................that's my endgame.

I agree... Little things might help a lot.

I want a PvP Leader Board with kills listed. We're pilots, we need to be able to brag.
Some kind of impact on the GCW.
Let's get the "form up" command working for groups in space.
Fix the group waypoints in space.
