PS- go back to the star wars movies (episode 4-6) and look at the sorts of targeting aids they had... then be thankful you have what you have, instead of some DEVilish attempt at continuity

What exactly were those silly box-looking things on Han's ship, when they're shooting at the TIEs, anyway? Good point, pun and all!

Consider looking at it this way:

The targeting reticle is your computer's best estimate of where the ship will be, given its current speed and heading. It is not perfect, just an aid to get you close.

If you'll remember, one of the fighters in the original Star Wars used his targeting computer to fire into the Death Star's exhaust port .... and missed. Luke used the Force to sink his shot. Even in the movies it wasn't always accurate.

Therefore, the reticle is close to where your aimpoint should be, to the limit of your computer's ability to scan for and process all the variables. The rest is up to you.

what is most annoying is when u disable a ship.. the lead indicator is completely screwed, u can't dmg the ship by just shooting it from sight until it comes to meet the lead indicator. other than this i have no probs with the lead indicator
