A few days back, I was rebuilding my TIE Interceptor for the fun of it. It took it to deep space to see how it fared. To my disadvantage, there was nothing in deep space except a single rebel B-Wing, and he decided to get me.
Naturally, I ran. Naturally, he was faster.
I watched the guy line up behind me. He had to be thinking, "Easy Kill." I was thinking, "No room for error." I went straight back to my days soloing my Tier3 and 4 missions. I knew I had to fly like the Devil himself was after me and I was an atheist. I carefully watched the guy close on me. (My high-hat backward looks backward. That broke side-to-side, which I sometimes miss, but I'd much rather have an on-the-joystick look backwards. It's amazingly useful.) When he lined up and started firing, I dodged. The poor guy was good-as-dead at that point. I just flew circles around him and plinked him to death. He blew up on the fifth pass. I wasn't touched.
He showed back up later with a Firespray, got very close to the SD shield generators, and proceeded to blow one up. I casually shot him while he was being gimpy. No challenge.
The lesson here is: anyone who enters Deep Space in an TIE Interceptor is looking for a challenge. Let that be a warning to you.
