New Class:

Capacitor - RE 3
Cygnus "Cyg-Cap B" Capacitor

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

these must be lost data from the corruption, I'm pretty sure I have fixed these before.

I've added a feature to improve the integrity of the dataset.

Logged-in users may now click the link labeled 'flag for admin review' on the 'component analysis' screen for a given component. Doing so will put the component in a queue of items to be reviewed for possible deletion by moi.

Typical use case:

You're looking at the level attribute summary for engines and see a level 9 with 120 speed. Clearly, some rocket scientist has inserted a crafted engine into the dataset. You click the link denoted by the '120' to bring up the component view, then click 'flag for admin review' at the top of the data display. A big red box will appear beneat the primary component data indicating that the data is circumspect.

Next time I log in, an alert will pop up on my super whiz-bang admin menu showing me that a component has been flagged. I swoop in and destroy the offending bad data with extreme prejudice and, if the submitting user was unwise enough to include her email on her user profile, dash off a scathing denunciation of the evil deed done.

The community has added almost 400 new components to the system in just 48 hours, even without the help of the insane data-misering efforts of Itet, K-Bo and Lantyssa in the mix. Big ups to everyone who has posted since the comeback, with special consideration for the heavy hitters:
jcsavagers, Oraed, Egon and Azdraik
You guys rock! Whenever I see people kicking into high gear to input their data like this, it makes me want to add more and better features. I'm blowing off my day job all day to write spaceloot code, baby.

No biggie.
Always glad to help worthwhile causes.

Figured since I'm working pilot a lot more now (until a decent Smuggler revamp anyway) and you lost so many parts from the crash I'd help out.

Now that I'm through all my stored parts, it won't take that long to just drop in the few pieces I get on duties and such.

I never realized that so many of the pieces I had were so good...
A few are the best in one or two stats, but granted that while there may be 4000-5000 entries, they are spread out over 10 levels of 8 catergories, so averaged, that's only 50 entries per type-level.
Now, if I could only get the 'good' items in pieces that matter, not these RE 1-3 items...

Roughly how many component entries were lost?

-Edit-
HAAHAHAAAHAA....
Rocket scientist, that's funny.

I'm not sure of the precise number, but it's roughly 1000.

hurrah, does that mean the 162221.5 mass L7 engine can finally be dropped into the pits of hell? because it sure skewed the standard deviation on that category

Yup. JC already flagged about five bad parts that I fixed or blew away, I'm pretty sure that L7 engine was among them.

Sure enough.

But since the forums wouldn't let me log in earlier, there's a 'RE3' droid interface that looks like a RE9 or 10, but I get an error when I try to pull it up to flag it.

3/3 SoroSuub RAD-MK1 Droid Interface

Armor: 845.5

HP: 845.5

RED: 485.8

Mass: 23964.7

Speed: 10.4

(Edit)

Something odd though, even though those bad parts are gone, the bad attribute values still show up in the summary pages...

hmm... something must need to be tweaked then, because it still shows as the Level max mass on the summary by RE level page. not sure if it's still applying to the average/std.dev. but still sticks out on the list at the very least

Ohhh - I see what's happening. The code I put in place to recalculate the cached data on delete is there, but the code doesn't recalculate on updates. I should be able to knock this out in fairly short order.

I believe I've repaired the problem with the caches not updating properly. Tricky stuff, those caches.

Wrote a almost three thousand lines of code today. Coming tomorrow (hopefully): something cool
