We'd probably gnaw at each other cannibalistically, or at least 'some' might. *points at random villager*

ok, I have kept my mouth shut on the subject so far, but am I the only one that thinks Leaph needs some serious psychiatric help!?!?!

Halyn you are right to worry about leaving him unsupervised

Halyn returned to his private quarters for some well earned rest. He was startled to find a certain young twi'lek sprawled across his bed. He looked her up and down, noticing a bulge in her undergarments!

^Now there's a cliffhanger.

We need more story. I mean, the villagers are getting wary of waving their pitchforks, the bonfire is also kind of wierding me out with its fantasizing about than darn Twi-lek and I think the cannibalistic one is eyeing me up as if it wants me as its next meal. For the love of all things A-wing, get writing Halyn.

/gulp.

Halyn and his space cowboys return to the mining station to find Crixx standing there, brandishing a sawn-off DL44 at the crew of the ship, all propped against the wall, in naught but a pair of pink hawtpants!

"Give me all your lewt!" he cried.

"We have no lewt, we're a mining colony," one of the scared miners yelped.

"Even better, asteroid resources!" Crixx scanned the area. "Lol, you noobs haven't even got a Y-8 "

At that moment Leaph crashed his A-wing into the station, killing everyone.

The end.

I'm sorry Hal, but I demand that Elle dies. She just has nothing on Deuce.

And A-wings.

After Episodes I and II, I don't know if I'd call that a compliment. Now if you had said "Rivals the writing on Empire", then that's a little different.

You guys continue to terrify me...

Anyways, on with the story.

And then everything went straight to hell.

The comm blared, cutting in out with washes of static. "...is Darksing D-45, is anyone...ere? We...tack...Zynt'aia..."

"Sithspawn!" Halyn swore aloud.

"Cut the chatter, Nine!" A'Lerris snapped. "That's one of ours. Anyone have a vector from the transmission?"

"Transmitting to you now, Lead," Argus said calmly.

A'Lerris's Headhunter rolled out to port, the rest of the squadron following suit. "On me. Accelerate to full throttle," she ordered. "Keep your eyes and ears open."

Hal shook his head. The Zynt'aia used their own fighters as a distraction. I don't know whether they were planning this or just took advantage of the situation, but it doesn't matter. We've been played for suckers. He glanced down andmade a minor adjustment to his Headhunter's wings. The Zynt'aia definitely want a Naleran mining ship. Why are they trying so hard to pick off a Naleran? Some of these freighters coming in and out must have valuable cargo.

I'll worry about that after this battle, I guess.

"Lead?" Elle's voice cut through the Zabrak's ponderings. "I've got a contact on long-range. Two contacts. The Darksing D-45 and...something about as big. My targeting computer hasn't locked it down yet, though."

The image slowly formed itself on Halyn's CMD. The Zabrak's heart sank as the image slowly gained more definition. The ship was roughly one hundred and twenty-five meters long. The vessel had a broad pair of "wings" forward with an aft section large enough to house a quartet of X-wings aft. The bridge and communication/sensor array was nestled at the junction of the two sections, and a trio of powerful sublight engines were mounted below the aft section. Sensors reported a powerful energy field around the craft, indicating heavy shields, and at least five distinctive turbolaser emplacements.

"That's a Warlord-class heavy cruiser," he said aloud, fighting back the urge to curse. "She's playing high guard over the Darksing."

"I've got multiple fighters," Snout called. "Two IRDs, four Z-95 Headhunters, four Y-wings. Ten contacts in all. Repeat, one-zero."

"Snubfighters aren't moving to engage us yet," Elle noted. "Maybe they haven't noticed us."

"They know we're here," Halyn disagreed. "They want support fire from that cruiser." He hesitated. "Lead, what do we do?"

"We can't let them take the Darksing," the security chief answered quietly. "All fighters, prepare to engage. Arm concussion missiles. One Flight, target the lead IRD; Two Flight, target the second IRD."

"Private channel, Lead," Hal said urgently. A moment later, a button on his comm lit up. "What the hell are you doing?" he asked angrily. "If we go up against that Warlord, it will rip us to pieces."

"Nine, we can't let the Zynt'aia take the Darksing. Do you have any idea what they'll do to the crew?"

"Dammit, Lead, why are the Zynt'aia targeting the Nalerans?"

Silence filled the comm for a long moment. "I'll explain to you after we get through this battle, Halyn," she finally said. "Help me through this. We can't do this without you."

The Zabrak noted the Warlord's transponder signal had finally been tagged the Dark Horizon by the Headhunter's computer. The Zynt'aia snubfighters were beginning to form up, preparing to repel the oncoming assault by the Naleran security fighters. "A'Lerris, please--don't do this."

"I have to."

Halyn sighed. The Headhunter's klaxon started wailing. "The Warlord's targeting us."

"Back to regular channel, Nine." A moment later, A'Lerris's voice came across the squadron channel. "Stick wtih your wingmen, people, and we can do this! Stay away from the Dark Horizon as best you can--if you get in too close, it'll vape you in one shot from those turbolasers." She hesitated. "Good luck, everyone, and don't be afraid to call for help."

"Here they come," someone whispered. "My gods, here they come."

The Rebel kept his throttle at full as the rest of the Headhunters began to decelerate to dogfighting speed. The first fighters coming at the Naleran formation, the IRD pair, loomed large. The Zabrak twisted the stick to the side, flipping the Headhunter through a spiral. He squeezed the trigger, spraying blasterfire wildly as the two IRDs flashed past on either side of him. He smiled, continuing his insane charge into the Zynt'aia lines.

Gotta break them up, gotta keep them distracted. It's the only way.

"Nine, come back!" A'Lerris screamed. "Dammit, Halyn, get back here!"

"Negative, Lead," Hal said, sweat pouring down his face. "I'm doing what I have to do." Just gotta keep these fighters off-balance so the security pilots can sweep them up. Have to distract them, keep them unfocused, keep them off-balance.

But the Zabrak knew he had no plan to deal with the Dark Horizon.

Amazing story, the latest bit reminded me off some of the crazy stuff I'd done in my TIE Bomber... and that one time I flew the Eta-2 with about 10 rebels and a gunboat chasing me, that was fun...

Anyway, great story, I can't wait to read the next bit.
