Thread: Question about the Vaskai mission

I'm at the point where I just have to do a couple missions out of the Kash Station. I'm just wondering if anyone can offer any tips as to how I can better protect a tier 1 civilian transport against multiple waves of tier 3 and 4 fighters, plus the ridiculous amount of tier 2 spawns of 4 ships each, which provide a worthy distraction if nothing else. I assume this can be done, but is there a trick outside of bringing a few friends? I'd hate to drag them into this silly thing...

Best way I found was to fly 4-500m in front of the transport.

Sounds like a good start. Any other suggestions? I don't want to fail this mission twice again...

Focus on the ships that can launch rockets.

first time I ran thru this I had the same question... but I was lagging horribly. Your best bet aside from some of the other advice here, is to disable the attacking ships, and don't worry about destroying them... don't worry about loot or xp, just disable and leave them to rot.

Agreed..just disable engines on the ships and let them float there.

One more question. Is the Vaskai comparable to the Bel-22? Because I'm not doing this stupid "endless escort" mission

I went on a Necrosis run. Way easier.

correction, almost twice as much mass, which allows for a much better engine and weapon. Which both easily counter the difference in PYR acceleration and wepon hardpoints. Simple truth is, I have lost to a B22 while flying a Vaksai, and I only lost to 2 JSF because there were two of them, and in the first2 fights where I sent them packing they had whittled down my substantial armor.

Vaksai > movie ships

My friend and I did this mission easily. Twice in fact (once for her, once for me). We simply vaped every red dot at it appeared.

I am not sure why you hesitate to bring along friends. Flying with other people is best part of JTL. Otherwise you might as well being playing X-Wing Alliance alone.
