Thread: Stupid Quick Question

I was wondering what exactly is good for a Droid Interface... what I mean is.

Is a lower number under speed better?.. such as 34 slower than a 15...

And do the speeds really make a difference when you go into hyperspace.. or the time it takes to calculate the hyperspace coordinates... Is there anything else you need in order to speed up the calculating?...

I want to be sure I can turn tail and ditch when things get rough in my YT-1300 instead of being a sitting duck... sorry if this a really easy and pathetic question.

Lower speed is better. DI speed effects how quickly you can start your overload programs and how quickly you can use captoshieldstunt. That last one is huge if you get a speedy DI, as you can replenish your shields MUCH more quickly with a great DI.

So a fast DI can make your shields charge back up faster?... How does this work?.. Or is that a pilot command.

The lower speed is better. So that 15 is twice as fast as a 30. The is speed is for the time in between droid commands. So this helps when running things like capacitor to shield shunt commands. Note this is only for droid commands. Please keep in mind that certain droid commands take longer then other droid commands. So if you have a droid interface of 15 that does not mean that you only have to wait 15 seconds after running weapon overload 3. However simpler commands like shield shunt will only take about 15 seconds before you can issue another command.

Alright that makes sense.. So im guessing that the jump to lightspeed takes the same amount of time for everyone... that sucks in a way.. Would be cool if you could make a quicker jump with a better hyperdrive.

---

To go along with that.. I was just thinking that it would be cool to really have a Hyperdrive component to add to your ships but not have it necessary.. like an upgrade or somethin... get a Hyperdrive like Han Solo that dosnt work all the time and has a 75% chance of failing and have to wait 30 seconds or somethin but if its successful its an instant jump... just an idea heh.

Just get a fast engine, good boosters, use IFF and you should be all set.

hahaha wouldn't it be funny if there was a 'crit failure' on calculations occassionally and players would hyper into asteroids and such?? You'd see someone jump in and splat right into something!! hehe not really but certainly funny to ponder.

75% failure? Heck we had that during beta. The only thing missing was the sad little sound comming from the hyperdrive. That would have been perfect.

Ok, here is a question. I had a DI that was 17 speed. After I installed it, it went to 30 speed. Why?

possibly a pre-nerf DI and some kind of bug/stealth fix for them?? That or you got two DI's confused?
