It's time something is done about the grossly deceptive and mislabeled "Eject" button!
When you eject from a ship, the ship is destroyed. All my component were a 0 condition when I checked. Repairing them results in a 10% decay (ie. My reactor was at 78hp, and after repair it's condition was 70.8hp) I can accept this as my ship was severly damaged and unable to move.
However, the wounds you recieve are DOUBLE what they are when you are shot down by another ship!
From my understanding, when you eject from a stricken aircraft, it's to SAVE yourself from serious injury and death. If we were to apply the "eject" button in SWG to real life, then no one would eject from thier aircraft becuase it's certain death... better to take your chances surviving acrash landing. All those bomber crews in WWII would not havesat out the war inprison camps, they would have been burried 6 feet under!
Developers! Please rename the "Eject" button to "Self Destruct" or "Suicide" because that's what it really is!

I completely agree. I always go down with my ship instead of using the "Eject" button for that reason.

The Eject button is a little decieving, perhaps it should be called "I Quit" button

Agreed. I brought this issue up in beta as well. In my opinion Eject should save even your ship from further worsening of the parts condition, even though it doesn't technically make sense (since ejecting means your ship is still destroyed). It should be a viable option in combat to save yourself, and it allows those who are a little more gutsy to see if they can stick it out where others would have ejected

Always thought the extra wounds where silly. If you eject your ship is destoyed but you should have less wounds not more.

Wouldn't it be REALLY nice if you could eject and then be picked up by a group member in who had room in his/her multiplayer ship?
You could avoid space-cloning wounds, stay in the fight and it would encourage group tactics.

I agree completely.
Not to mention the animation isn't an eject animation... it's a self-destruct animation. For ejecting, it should show either the cockpit detatching and jetting off while the rest of the ship spirals off or explodes, or show your character with an air mask on ejecting from the cockpit (like in X-Wing and X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter).

What about the times when your engine and reactor are destroyed but the rest of the ship is intact? Is that still an I quit situation? What am i sticking itout for then?
Please don't fully generalize the situation. I stick it out untill i can't do anything anymore. Thats when i hit the button.
Yeah, i had the button pop up for a booster that was dead, but i did win the fight too, and bloody proud of it. ![]()
I do agree that the200 HAMspace wounds is a nasty price for the eject, but when you eject, the 10% only comes off the amount that is repaired. Not the full amount if the whole part is dead. That is the pay off. How much of the 10% are you willing to pay for 200 HAM damage.

I've often wondered what would happen if you're flying with a group, get damaged enough to HAVE to eject, but the threat is gone. It might sound silly to some, but I've always thought it'd be cool if you could tow a ship with a multiplayer ship. Might give people a bigger incentive to take those things out of the hanger...

LOL, I was wondering if anyone else was thinking the same thing. Truth is, I never have been shot down, only time I ever use the eject button is when my engine goes dead and I am sitting there waiting for my assailants to destroy me- and when they take such a logn time doing it, I can get a little bored. But I agree taht you should not get more damage ejecting than getting shot down- but maybe they want to reward patient players who are willing to sit there and watch there ship slowly get destroyed
