Thread: Question about Smuggler's Alliance

Sorry if this subject has been brought up to death, but I couldn't find an exact answer in the stickies.
So I'm 3 boxes away from Master. As the title says I'm in the Smuggler's Alliance, happen to be a Smuggler on the ground, and a neutral one at that. But due to the new publish, I'm planning on going Imp again for the faction business.
Now this is my problem: I've heard things that make me think that SA is Rebel aligined. If I go Imperial on the ground, will I have problems in space with Imperial ships(i.e. shooting them down and the Vette)?
I think so. I donot knowfor fact but but when i tried to go imp once all they say is "oh no your fly for Those guy" and cuts ya off. So by this i would say no imp business for you if you really are a SA that started on tatooine. One of the other freelancers are imp aligned, and one other can swing both ways.
I have done master with SA and Rebel on another server so this is from my experience. Lol doesnt mean i am right lol

Nope the faction that you are on the ground doesn't change your allies and enemies in space
i would have to disagree with that to a point. Deep Space faction that you get that sticks with ya every now and then does but faction stuff on ground will not let you if a rebel in space goes to a imp recruiter. I know i have tried 3 times 3 different locations. Deep Space aligned changes it around some if remeber right.

Smuggler's Alliance is the ONLY "squadron" in space where you can attack both sides.
not true i have a CorSec and i can attack both imp and rebels if i want
actully Smuggler Alliance was rebel aligned, while RSF was imp aligned and CorSec was the true neutral.
when JTL came out "aligned" neutral squadron where not able to kill some ships, but things should have changed months ago.

The only real "neutral" pilot profession is CorSec. Smuggler's Alliance is Rebel aligned, and you are forced to take the 30 Ties and Rebel Corvette mission against the Star Ravager. CorSec gives you the choice between Rebel or Imperial.
The alignments with Freelance work like this:
Smuggler's Alliance cannot attack Rebels.
CorSec can attack anyone.
Royal Security Forces cannot attack Imperials.
I found this out the hard way because I tried killing Imperials while I was Rebel Ground Faction but RSF, and it wouldn't let me, but it would let me be Rebel Overt.
Now, in space, becoming Overt does depend on your ground faction. I was Rebel Faction on the ground when I mastered Vortex Squadron, Smuggler's Alliance, CorSec, and RSF. However, only neutrals and Imperials can take Imperial squadrons, so I had to resign from Rebel Faction and somehow get my Imperial FP in positive numbers as opposed to -5000.
I do it all the time.
