I am flying an X-Wing for the Crimson Phoenix Squadron on the last mission of Tier 3. The first part is easy: Fly into Endor, kill a tier 4 TIE Advanced and then IFF Transponder Spoof to get away without having to deal with his guards. The second part is what kills me.
It sounds easy enough, just fly through four waypoints and then kill two tier 3 TIE Advances and a single tie 4 TIEOppressor. The problem is the fact that this part of the mission puts me directly in an Imperial spawn. So what happens? I go in to kill my three TIEs and I end up getting attacked not only by them, but tier 4 TIE Advances, tier 4 TIE Oppressors, and tier 4 TIE Aggressors. The result is a fiery death on my part. Whenever I try to outmaneuver what is on my tail, I get three more on me.
I am using droid programs, but due to so many ships being on me, they just delay the inevitable. Any help?

Go Imperial, that'll keep those TIE's from shooting at you. Fixed me right up

Err... Try saving your spoof for after you kill the second set of TIE's? If you've got the droid programs, just work on going STRAIGHT for the TIE's you absolutely need to kill, then IFF scrambling away. Or hyperspacing as soon as you get the important ones.
I'd suggest buying yourself a nice shield, 1900+ hp. Even Tier 4's take a little while to cut through that.

I remember that mission. Was one of the last ones I did in my Z95.
The trick is that your mission spawns will follow you while the natural spawns won't. Well, the natural ones won't follow you as far. Just pull away, and cap to shield shunt as needed. Soon, the spawns will leave you alone, and you'll just have your mission targets to deal with.

[counts the fighters on his fingers, gets as far as five, and shrugs] That's what? Like six ships? No problem.
One thing you have to remember when fighting large groups of fighters is a) You've got about 7-8 seconds to blast the one you are trailing, and 2) these fights against clouds of fighters are the most fun you can have as a pilot in PVE.
Here's the trick to it:
Like I said above, you've got about 7-8 seconds to blow up the fighter you are tailing. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. If you don't succeed in taking out that fighter in the time I've allotted to you, no problem. You'll get back to him later.
Keep an eye on your radar. When you see a big flashing clump of red, you should take it to mean, "Hey! Open season on those guys!"
Don't just jink and roll to evade them. That's going to get you killed. Turn right into that clump of red and open fire. Pick a target and let your blasters hit everything they can if you've got a wide spead. When the clump starts to pass you, start trailing the target you picked. The rest of the fighter clump is going to break off and regroup behind you, but this is going to take forever... Maybe 7-8 seconds. In the meantime, this means they've given you a little one-on-one time with your target, caress her lovingly with your blasters. Tell her you love her. Then, watch her leave like every love before her...
By now, the fighters have reclumped and need to be broken up again. You get to develop a new relationship! My, you are a popular fellow!

Of course, there's an Aggressor in the bunch ... that's probably the problem right there, you don't know how to handle that one and it's nailing you with turret fire. Just target the Aggressor and joust it ... if you take out weapon 1, you can treat it like just another ship.

I just did that mission solo about a week ago! I loved it! Get your x-wing loaded with good lvl 7 shields, guns and engine, use all the overcharge 3's and cap to shield, and try to squeeze in the best armor you can fit in. Try to consentrate on the aggi's first, taking out the guns. Make sure you are using high damage guns (around 2900), alot of shipwrights are still making guns with low energy per shot, obviously with WO3, we don't care anymore, and just go for max damage. It makes a big difference. Other than that, there really is no strategy, just blast away. Oh, and one more thing, with that many ships, loose any ordance launcher you might have, all those triangles moving around the screen is distracting. Its great fun.

Here's how I got past this mission: (I don't know weather or not this was a bug, but it worked.) After I took care of the first part of the mission (The TIE: Advanced and escorts) I got to the patrol points. after the 3 fighters spawned, (The ones you have to destroy for the mission to pass) I started hyperspace calculations to hyperspace to the hyperspace in Endor that is closest to the station. After I came out of hyperspace, (an in-system jump so the mission didn't fail) the 3 mission critical fighters followed me, (somehow through hyperspace) and I was able to destroy them easily, without the trouble of a natural spawn point.

I finally beat it at 6:40 am shortly before the servers got shut down. Here's how:
1. Same procedure, IFF Spoof once destroying the Advance, fly to Endor Station and wait for Pilot Command to recharge.
2. Once I got the three on me, IFF Spoof and Hyperspace away. Come out of hyper and kill them easily.
3. Kill the waves of TIEs on my way to meet the smugglers.
4. Fly to help the X-Wing squadron kill the TIE Agressor. During the battle took a lot of flak, but Emergency Shields saves the day. Kill it then mop up the Fighters.
5. Land on Dathomir, train skill, victory dance, servers shut down.

Rhu I loved your post. I have used that very same tactic on fighter grps that included gunboats. Someone also suggusted high damage lvl 7s. I have to disagree. To put out the most damage in the alloted time you get in these engagements go with Speed crafted lvl 7s or REs if you can get them. The lvl 7 blaster with 2400+ max damage and a refire rate of .26 vs 2900 - .35 blaster will out dps the max damage blaster every time.

I'm discovering this more myself, the only killer for those will be when the WO3 fix comes in and those high speed guns bleed even an overcharge capacitor dry. For the interim, the high speed energy hose works, but it will be interesting to see how the WO3 fix changes things.
