I copied and pasted this from a thread I started on the Corbantis Galaxy Forum but I would like to see the reponse here in the game wide pilot area

I was wondering what is the fastest space ship in the game made by a player, with whatever equipment loaded you see fit

here is my ship and equipment:
TIE Royal Guard Interceptor - Max Mass 80k
Reactor - 14638.6 Max Charge, 7958.7 Mass
Engine - 119.4 Max Speed, 60.4 Yaw/Pitch/Roll Rate, 2430.9 Reactor Use, 30771.3 Mass
Booster - 1621.4 Max Charge, 31.5 Recharge, 168.1 Consumption Rate, 45.7 Acceleration, 47 Top Booster Speed, 685.1 Reactor Use, 34638.2 Mass

I got this thing to go 1194 w/o overcharge or booster, 1663 w/Booster w/o Overcharge, 1671 with Engine Overcharge 4, and 2140 with Engine Overcharge 4 and Booster

I would post a pic to prove my success so there is noquestion about me actually doing it but I could see ppl claiming that I doctored the pics so I wont bother, you will just have to take my word or not.

I would like to see other's success in making fast ships, Rebel, Imperial, or Neutral, doesnt matter to me

A Vaksai could meet or beat that speed plus have room left for actual combat gear.

I have one of those on my alt that does the same speed and with guns but I thought the Red Interceptor looks better so I use that with no guns Both the Interceptor and Vaksai use 100% of the engine speed so between those two, there wont be any difference in speed unless you change engines. the 119 speed engine is the fastest I have seen yet but am always on the look out for faster The engine is a lvl 9 and so is the highest quality of the craftable engines w/o going into the POB only ones.

I think this would be a fun way for cross server, friendly compitition, see who can set the record and then break it

Those are some impressive speed figures, but without space"Race Track" not terribly pratical. I have a Vaksai
"The Whale" on Wanderhome that tops out at 1936 with the 2400/2400 shields and Nyms Cert 10 gun on it. I'm perfactly happy with that.

I've gotten my Vaksai just a tad faster then that, namely due to it's insane mass for a bigger light fighter.

Saying that going fast just to go fast isn't practical is so obvious its funny. Don't you think we know, it's not practical? This is America, land of NASCAR and drag racing, c'mon...

In the pre-ROTW class, I've pushed an A-Wing up to 1759 speed with an Advanced popgun and 1925 f/bType IV shields.

What I wouldn't give for that engine, my best is a 117.7 and I had to bribe a WS to have access to some of the best metals my server has seen, 2 of my resources ended up having to be 2nd best according to swgcraft.com between the engine and booster.

What I wouldn't give for better low grade ore... Its the one thing holding me back. Plus I don't throw everything into speed anymore. I've been able to keep my speed around 101 with 70YP/57.7R. With POBs, I'd rather have better handling at combat speed than simply flying to my doom that much faster.

POB I'd rather have speed, trying to dodge is an exercise in futility. Faster you are, the better you can keep your targets behind you - nice and lined up sitting targets for your gunners.I also put excess points into Yaw and Roll, and leave Pitch at base- pitch is the hardest for gunners to compensate for, so I perfer not to manuver in that axis at all.
